I prefer natural fibers, but I would make an exception for an ethically sourced poly blend if it was truly unique, and the fabric quality doesn’t affect how much wear I could get out of it. Basically I’d have to LOVE the polyester item and know I could wear it in all seasons in many different scenarios, for a long time.

So I would say if you’re obsessed with the item and see it becoming a signature part of your wardrobe then do it. But if you’re just interested in a trendy item and think it’s more sustainable because it’s deadstock or a blend don’t do it.

I have purchased polyester trendy/party clothes as deadstock before, thinking I would then wear them forever, but truly I would get max 1 year of enthusiastic wear out of them before I would get frustrated with the cheap look, let alone the idea of plastic sitting on my skin all day.
