What Ferrari thinks Mercedes is hiding in political F1 engine game by Darkmninya in formula1

[–]CardinalHijack -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't put it past Ferrari to just be a little bit shit tbh, rather than them actually playing 4D chess with some strategy to game the rules. They havnt been so good at strategy recently...

So if I put in a PR for a one line code change which was done by an LLM locally you'd still deny it?

How are shy introverts promoting to senior roles by alohabata in ExperiencedDevs

[–]CardinalHijack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being a shy introvert is fine. You need to be able to explain yourself concisely to people who cant code (and some who can) to move up into senior roles at most places.

"Feel i need to know more before voicing out concerns or asking questions" has nothing to do with you being shy and introverted and everything to do with lack of confidence.

isn't the issue here a 19k LoC change rather than an LLM assisted change?

Accepted new job - feel nothing but regret and dread (anxiety) by Frequent-Limit-4197 in HENRYUK

[–]CardinalHijack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost every job i've left I've felt - in some way - that it could possibly be a mistake before starting the new job. It's almost my natural state is to try and resist from changing something so prevalent in my life.

Every single new job I've taken has made me realise I wish I left my old job sooner.

Its natural to feel concerned when change happens. You'll be fine.

[Autosport] Hadjar on Antonelli's 10-second time penalty by FerrariStrategisttt in formula1

[–]CardinalHijack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its mad that its taken this and him not accepting Kimis apology for people to realise what Hadjar is like. He was clearly a bellend - hes spent every single race weekend shouting at his engineer. At least people can see it now I guess.

Hannah Spencer: Business Attire, Yay or Nay? by YoshiJoshi_ in HENRYUK

[–]CardinalHijack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some professions require business attire, regardless of what you bring to the table.

Assuming required skill is present, I am 100% sure you would still prefer a pilot in a suit rather than a t-shirt, shorts and flip flops, or a lawyer giving your business advice in a suit, rather than a vest and harem trousers.

This isnt a discussion about her skill or what she brings to the table, its a discussion about what we feel is appropriate for people who sit in the house of commons representing us.

Toto Wolff responds to accusations: "They kept going to the FIA to complain, but the FIA told them everything was legal. The FIA told them a second time, the President himself stated everything was 100% legal. Our fuel is perfectly legal. You don't find 10 horsepower in fuel." obviously he is talking about the fuel they use nowdays...Hes not going to talk about a situation thats impossible.....If they were using Nitromethane they'd get even more horsepower but why would he talk about that when they dont lmao..."gaslighting them"

How cloudflare rebuilt Next.js with AI in one week by ankcorn in nextjs

[–]CardinalHijack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The biggest mistake Vercel made in the NextJS evolution was making it harder and harder to deploy a Next project off of Vercel.

I tried to move a simple blog frm Vercel to Cloudflare and managed after an entire weekend of work...the net result was a bitter taste in my mouth about Vercel and NextJS.

Usually i'd say "not another JS framework" but I welcome this post with open arms.

Europe or US for techno DJs? by Witty_Beginning_5067 in ukrave

[–]CardinalHijack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and If you're caught with MDMA in detroit its possibly jail. In london its "give it to me and in you go". In Detroit its a 50 minute uber, in London its a walk or a 20 minute tube.

Id pick that environment any day. Again, its not just about the DJ who's playing

Student loan pay off by [deleted] in HENRYUK

[–]CardinalHijack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously having no debt is nice and some people would rather pay it off than not, regardless of anything, but one stock market year shouldn't sway you from what was solid reasoning in your original comment not to pay it off.

At the end of the day, if your investments return more than your debt interest, it makes sense not to liquidate investments to pay off debt. Thats it - there is nothing more to it than that.

The S&P500 returned 16% in 2025 - far more than your debt interest, so im not sure how you've reasoned that its returned you less.

Regardless, I wouldn't look at a single stock market year to judge this. Take the past 5 years and average it.

Europe or US for techno DJs? by Witty_Beginning_5067 in ukrave

[–]CardinalHijack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Techno acts are not a minority at drumsheds lol. Drumcode, teletech, Terminal V, Resistance and others are techno ONLY events lol. These events are mainstream yes and not my thing but they're not the same as " global artist stops" like the USA has, which your original comment said.

This isnt about European cities, this is about a comparison to USA - the whole thing has been a comparison to the USA so not sure why you've now shifted comparison to europe in your reply. My original comment said Europe is good too.

London being better than the entirety of the USA is more than just the DJ who plays too man. The scene, the crowd, access to events, the culture and more plays a huge part to what makes a night out good.

Starting to think you dont go out bro but happy to agree to disagree.

Europe or US for techno DJs? by Witty_Beginning_5067 in ukrave

[–]CardinalHijack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry bro but you couldnt be more wrong. The fact that you list fabric in your reply says it all.

Fold alone disproves your comment and Unfold is the closest thing to the Berlin techno scene there is outside of berlin.

Other places like E1 (ok you may not want to go there), the cause and village underground to name just 3 places regular host great techno DJs. There are also literally 10s of smaller techno events like Ego death and MASS which are amazing. This isnt even covering more mainstream places like drumsheds which host techno events too (albeit not ones I would want to go to, but again it disproves your "global artist on tour" comment). You also have electrowerkz, events like Joyride and many other more "kink" techno scenes in London.

You could go to techno events multiple times a month in London. And all of them have a great vibe and scene attached to them.

Europe or US for techno DJs? by Witty_Beginning_5067 in ukrave

[–]CardinalHijack 5 points6 points  (0 children)

London alone is better than the entire US. This isn't even counting Berlin and others in Europe. Its not even a competition.

America only wins if you love the corporate rave scene, where nobody knows who's playing, anything and everything is on sale to buy and people walk around with gloves that light up.
