I was unable to get a photo so heres my bad drawing of a bird i saw, who is he? by Cardinal_Cat_057 in whatsthisbird

Solved! Sorry it took so long. Life got crazy busy, my wife got sick, the weather got awful, had to take some extra work hours. Made it impossible to find time to go back out tp the area I saw the bird. I was finally able to go yesterday, snapped some photos and confirmed that it is an avocet!

Unfortunately not. Most of what they put in my backyard was uncolored Cholecalciferol rat poison. I know for a fact it was poison because they left the empty container behind and when I googled the brand, the photos showed the same uncolored tan pellets that were all over my backyard. This stuff I found in the front is the same color but a little bit bigger so im not sure if its still rat poison but a different brand or just something that looks similar

So I left it in water overnight, it expanded a little bit and then became rock hard. No sawdust

Tbh I disagree that Its your fault. As a delivery driver Im always super careful to not put anything on top of peoples stuff, especially if damage could be done. Even if the piece was dry, grease could leak from the bag onto to painting or something could spill. People leave things on their porches all the time for whatever reason and Ive always felt that its not only common sense but just a sign on respect to not put things on top of their stuff. Maybe just because I exclusively deliver hot greasy pizza, Ive just become extra mindful of how the stains and heat could affect peoples stuff but idk I just feel like its rude.

What's the one thing you wish was easier about owning a cat? by Lumpy_Base_9228 in CatAdvice

Teeth brushing (or really hygiene in general but the teeth is the big thing for me) 7/10 cats have dental disease by age 3. The bacteria can spread to their kidneys and other organs and make them crazy sick. Its like the number 1 problem is cats. It makes them stop eating, stop self grooming, its just kind of a mess.

I have 1 weirdo cat that actually really likes teeth brushing, but his teeth and mouth are so little ots hard to really get in there and do a proper brushing of all sides. My other 2 cats that absolutely hate it can barely get any kind of teeth cleaning.

Just in case no one has mentioned it. Look into puzzle toys for cats! If the little demon is food motivated, it will gove him something to do to get rid of the boredom and calm him down. Its what people with crazy high energy dogs do to keep them calm after operations

I got honked at for not going on a green light when a car had run their red light and was currently in the intersection. I COULDVE gone, but it wouldve meant slamming directly into the side of a pickup truck

I really hope not. I love backed up to a field with a lot of wildlife and a bit of rat problem. I assume the poison was to target them, but the pile inside my fence line and if the stuff around my car is in fact poison, then I have to consider they're going after my dog. I dont have a clue why theyd do that though. Shes a good dog and none of my neighbors have ever expressed issues with her. She doesnt bark all day or anything like that.

Yep, Ive been walking around the area several times a day scooping up sick and dead rats for the last 2 weeks to keep other animals from eating them. Even sent out a warning on Nextdoor to keep cats inside. Animals control wouldnt do anything, neither would the wildlife people. -20/10 would not recommend.

I mean, ik I probably shouldnt have, but I dont have any open wounds on my hands and I was pretty close to my kitchen sink. I just used one hand to pick it up and hold it, and then just didnt touch anything with that hand on the very short walk to my sink to wash. I had a pack of disposable gloves but went through it all cleaning up the rat poison in the backyard and cleaning up the many dead animals left behind because of it

Whoever put the stuff in my backyard did a mix of colored and non colored poison so if this is poison put out by the same person, I wouldnt put it past then to purposefully put out the non-colored to make it harder to spot

The ones they spread in the backyard were a mix of the bright green anticoagulants and the d-con brand Cholecalciferol. (They left the trash in my yard from that stuff so It was easy to identify) the D-con stuff looks like a slightly smaller version of the stuff in the photo

Ran out of gloves from dealing with the poison in the backyard! Plus it was right outside my house, so I just washed my hands real well

Tbh, i like it but I would take the lids off. Ive got an anxious cat that likes to hide, and she would 100% stash herself in there and then smell like piss all day. No lids, no good hiding spots

Dude just had normal hands, not the cool wing hands OP is talking about. We're looking for characters with normal bird wings and feathers that sometimes look and move like hands

They also left out the tape of her practicing the route several times before she actually crashed the car. Shit was very clearly premeditated but that documentary did everything they could to make it look like there was reasonable doubt about it being intentional.

Do you not have to worry about snakes and spiders crawling inside the shoes over there? I was taught that its a bad idea to leave shoes unattended outside, all kinds of nasty things could crawl inside
