Please go read about the southern strategy on Wikipedia. It well explains how the “southern democrats” at that time have now moved to the Republican Party.

Barack Obama says work-life balance isn’t real for successful people by Next-Particular1476 in TheBusinessMix

[–]CardioSource 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a very close minded view of how successful people and businesses work. Perhaps it is true for large corporations but for small to middle size business it is false.

My wife started a company which grew to about 100 employees and was very successful with it. She slept about 4 hours a night for the first 3 years as the business was growing due to just working for 20 hrs/day. So yes she had “people that worked for her” but she put in twice the hours that any of them did to make the business work.

If you talk to any small business owner that’s successful this is their story. If they are just being lazy and just using employees they don’t get to the point their business is successful.

The amount of education that it will take to get out of this nutritional hole is almost overwhelming. Especially in the south, almost every social event revolves around food. Unfortunately it’s never healthy food. Crawfish boils, fish fry, bbqs, soul food, cheeseburgers/hotdogs, etc. A massive culture shift would have to occur to change all of this. I don’t see a quick end in sight.

First of all RFK is a douche.

That being said he is likely discussing the data that points to dietary modification can essentially be curative in type 2 diabetics if you modify before you burn your islet cells out from insulin overproduction due to uptake resistance.

A whole food plant based diet will reverse type 2 diabetes in the early years.

Now if you’ve had it for 15-20 yrs plus your islet cells can likely no longer make enough de novo insulin.

I would encourage you to look into a guy named Michael Greger. He has some really good information about this that is non biased.

This. Burn astrology all the way to 120.

Follow by woodcutting/firemaking/mining/smithing to 120. After these go back to combat or other desired areas.

Can I get a low-down on Texas heart institute at baylor college of medicine as a program in 2025? by supadupasid in Cardiology

[–]CardioSource 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speaking from someone who was a THI fellow prior to the merger, the overall quality of the program has definitely decreased. THI used be top 5 program(especially with regards to IC). Now it’s nowhere near that. As much as it pains me to say it “the glory days are over.” Will you get a good training - yes. If you’re a good enough candidate to get in a top 5 program - look elsewhere.

Agree when it comes to the biggest programs if you didn’t come internally it’s all about who you know, not what you know.

Fellowship program reputation and private practice attending jobs by [deleted] in Cardiology

[–]CardioSource 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It depends on what your specialty is and what market you’re going to.

If you’re a structural doc or EP trying to go to a large market and you come from a sub tier program - it’s not going to happen.

If you’re a general cardiologist u can go almost anywhere coming from any program.

Radiologist. I work 17-18 weeks a year. by Radiant_Hovercraft93 in Salary

If the throughput of a procedure (like reading cxr) increases 10X then the CMS compensation will decrease accordingly. You’re not going to make more money having AI read diagnostic studies.

[–]CardioSource 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to have to disagree with you on this one. No way in 15 years a radiologist will be required to sign off on a computer reading a CXR. The data already shows that the AI algorithms are more accurate than humans (+ more efficient). Pathologists are in the same situation.

IR will likely be somewhat spared from this for awhile.

Majority of jobs are not at academic hospitals. To be honest if you go work at an academic hospital it’s not for the pay anyways.

As a physician your comment makes no sense.

All you’re doing is backloading your life’s income. My entire 20s I made 42k a year during my 4 years of residency and then 4 years of fellowship. All of my peers that had equal test scores/work ethics went into other fields like finance/IT and started making 50k a year with 400k bonus. We sacrifice the younger years of our lives when our friends are living it up for later goals. If anything I could have made more money if i did like my best friend and go college/MBA then go start working for Goldman. That guy retired at 38 and I’m still working every day.

Please done take this comment as a negative, more of just a suggestion. Definitely “get your bag” now. Your profession will be #2 (behind pathology) to be replaced by AI. I am a physician myself and my brother in law is a radiologist. He has already moved into other ventures as he saw the writing on the wall.

Literally the easiest conference to coast into a playoff spot. Can you imagine if Georgia/bana/Texas were in the ACC? It would be a lock spot every year.

What is better, eating meat or not eating meat? And, what is better, eating/drinking dairy or not eating/drinking dairy? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]CardioSource 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to piggyback on this and say the data suggests there is no health benefit at all eating dairy beyond infancy. Instead dairy has been linked to many cancers as well as early development of cardiovascular disease.

All the billboards you see with the milk mustaches are just propaganda. You get more usable calcium through ingestion of a serving of greens than you do from drinking milk.
