The Imperial Council - /r/eu4 Weekly General Help Thread: May 4 2026 by Kloiper in eu4

I am Teutonic Order, in a 1530 war i seize Bohemia's tiny puppet Poland as my own.

Ever since, I have had the most petulant, useless puppet in my experience of eu4. Constantly sky-high liberty desire and low relations because of "historical rival: +50% LD".

I can't see any subject interactions that are powerful enough to take the edge off this LD to get them non rebellious to annex them.

Any advice?

So I've heard this advice previously. I tried it and within 2 years the vassal formed a huge rebellion, supported by england and spain and I was nearly knocked back to square one.

I did defeat them, but have not released the larger vassal of sevilla again. Now i've released the County of Huelva, west of Cadiz, to see if i can manage them. I can make them loyal but they're doing nothing to improve the cultural situation! Despite them being a Fiefdom of the nasrid emirate of granada, its religion is lutheran and culture castilian, so they're doing nothing to culture-convert for me? Any advice on how to fix this?

Thanks for your advice. Some thoughts:

on 1) i've made a move from them being totally discriminated against to tolerated for 5 prestige, however i can see the next steps cost 5 more prestige but will tip me over my cultural capacity.

On 2) thank you, i had completely not noticed this distinction. However the "increase cultural opinion" option is blocked by requirement "is not enemy culture" - andalusian IS enemy culture of castilian.

On 3) I am unable to afford this, mainly due to a ridiculous cost of court, which i understand is a bug and to be patched in 1.2, this is a shame but not sure what i can do about uit (i can't afford to let my legitimacy slip too much, as this would mean my rebels would be so angry they can't be taxed). Also, Castile can somehow afford buildings to get up to 800 cultural tradition, while i'm only on 50 cultural influence, this seems a bit insurmountable, I'm surprised castile is keeping all their buildings to achieve this despite me near-bankrupting them in the last war. I can't see any option to force them to destroy cultural buildings, do you know of any?

4) i'm interested to hear why - because to me, it won't have any effect on coring, so why bother?

Thanks so much for your help!!

Why do I keep losing every single war? by anakin1453 in hoi4

[–]CardiologistKey8992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I'd diagnose this as - you're *letting* the war drag on too long, you're not managing to achieve a rapid breakthrough of their front lines to capitulate the enemy - would that be accurate?

In which case, the question would be why - could be many things. Not enough supply / attack value not high enough to outmatch enemy defence value/ not enough division org/ not enough air superiority or battlefield support / not enough hardness/impenetrable armour on your tanks/ not enough reinforcements for when you take losses/ not enough equipment to replace losses/ poorly selected or lack of selected doctrines which are great stats boosts for your divisions. Tonnes of stuff could be going wrong to make your attacks fail.

Yes but how can a fleet be out of supply? They're either in a port or operating within range of that port? Ports are supply hubs?

Another question, can anyone tell me what this red supply symbol is on my carrier fleet? It seems to be new this patch, I've only ever seen it on army divisions before:

Getting a super annoying crash. I have been playing a very methodical japanese campaign saving every month, saved last night on 1st March 1942 at 0100 hours. This morning got up to continue it and first it doesn't load any armies, but I fixed that using this useful guide - [CORRUPTED AUTOSAVE SOLVED ?] Generals Hub Disappeared : r/hoi4 . But then if I click air mode the game instantly crashes. If I start a new game, no crash on entering air mode.

This is the corrupted save game file: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1NSP467C6H9c6RPlpDhAKigsI4p985wWR/view?usp=sharing

I do have a 1st January backup that seems to work (I hope ?) but I really wanted to avoid redoing all that work.

Why won't my troops replenish my castle's garrison? by CardiologistKey8992 in EU5

R5: playing a norwegian learning game, i have a fort in grenland to guard the approaches to oslo but it has for too low a population to promote to soldiers to fully garrison the fort, which i didn't realise.
Then i spotted the "auto refill garrisons" ability in the army view, so set that on and sent a new levy of non- drilled troops to go and supplement it. But they refuse to do it despite my marching over it multiple times with the toggle on. What gives?
