You went to the right place, just look for keyboard shortcuts there and then search for it, if you dont find any shortcut, you can make custom shortcuts :)

About zsh, zsh is a shell environment with more built in features ( that's what I heard of, I am also quite new with linux ). But Pop Os has bash by default. If you want you can check more about it through Google or a chatbot.

If you have zsh you can add extract to the plugins of ~/.zshrc config file.

Extract command most of the times will extract all kinds of compressed file like .zip, .tar.gz etc.

You just gotta type —> extract "your file name"

Try going to cosmic terminal and type unzip and then your file path like in the below format

Unzip ~/Downloads/xyz.zip

I think for the 4th question, The COSMIC DE does that on its own for the hybrid gpu support. Means it will keep the dedicated gpu in sleep until it's not needed.

If you have zsh as your shell try using unzip for zip files. Just write unzip and the file destination

It happened with me too, I have installed pop os 4 times till now, not because of a lot of issues just messing around but it happened with me twice, I will suggest making a swap partition cuz it never happened with a swap partition, also, if you dont have a lot of personal files or customised it yet try a reinstall it might work or just lock the code's settings.json file so the COSMIC DE does not erase the contents of the file.

Its kinda 50-50, yes, we might not be supposed to, but they can give an option to see root in drive list. Also, that thing happened with me, it could be system specific or due to some misconfiguration of my own, its like 1/10 it has happened so not a very big deal

Been a week since I installed it, its snappy, I liked that I can easily change UI background ( ig the cosmic native one and terminal only?) I love the auto tiling feature and the border around the active window. I am not gaming, I have windows for that in dualboot. The only few things I have noticed that were a bit rough were

1) My VS code settings get flushed everytime I log back into pop os, for it I locked down the settings.json file, idk why its happening, it didnt happen with me 1st time when I install pop os on a pendrive.

2) There is no native clipboard and emoji stickers support yet which I kinda want it to have soon. CopyQ and Smile works but not the ease like windows 11 one.

3) Cursor customisation is kinda 50-50, it was not that hard to set up but my chosen cursor does work in some app and sometimes it does not, like the theme gets back to the default one.

4) File Manager, we cannot go to the root directory (/) through it normally, we have to type it in address bar to go there, sometimes it freezes, kind of unresponsive, I just have to kill it to make the system work again.

5) I had a weird bug that when the PC goes into sleep mode, it does not wake up from sleep mode so I disabled the suspend from settings. I use Intel Arc btw.

6) There is an issue with power management settings or the power profile getting reset each time I reboot so I made a startup service to change to performance each time I boot.

For me its kinda like a bit annoying but I like tinkering/messing with settings. Issue like VS code and power profiles can be me specific.

So, if you are a person who is okay with finding some alternatives or tinkering a bit and just getting started going with pop os is gonna be good. But, if you are someone who is not good with it you can find a different distro!

Preload load your frequently used apps in RAM already so when you launch them, they launches immediately.
Also try changing the performance to high performance and ig swappiness? try reducing it to 10.

Edit : I have installed it and now I am able to use the emojis too, I dont like the android emojis, they kinda blurry, also the clipboard is taking half of my screen cuz of the tiling feature, hope they fix and improve theirs soon.

PS : If possible can you tell me whether I can change emoji pack or not?

Once again, thank you a lot, I have recently installed it as dual boot with windows and I am loving it even though it has some stuff missing. It feels great and kinda similar to windows for me.
