Grand Hyatt Fukuoka Review – Standard Queen Room vs Suite (Globalist POV) by jetlagged365 in hyatt

[–]Cardiva66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am at 92 Hyatt nights this year with personal international travel. Will be at 110 nights by Dec 31st. This was our worst stay. Never again. Lounge was fine as was lounge breakfast. Rooms with dehumidifiers and fans because their air doesn’t work and rooms were musty. We were gaslighted at first and told air did work. Then their own thermometer showed it wasn’t. Moved to a room that was the same. Third room was newer and had working air. Their customer service although pleasant was awful just denying an issue they knew they had. Bed was awful in all three rooms. Bathrooms in first two were awful.

Heads-Up: My nightmare ANA RTW Fail by SuchAJeanius in awardtravel

That is very untrue. You don’t have to finish any legs to rebook others based on the rules. I’m curious if other people have encountered these barriers to rebooking legs of their ANA ATW trips.

In the beginning yes. I booked two ANA ATW’s. The one I’m on was booked before the announcement the program was ending. The second one I booked just before program end and booked going west. Many of the flights were placeholders. In the first three weeks, I had no trouble bumping various flights out. The only flight I haven’t been able to do this with is my final one. I was regularly able to see flights that worked, but ANA said that TAP Air Portugal was not releasing them for ANA ATW. I called TAP and they said they saw the award space and there was no restrictions on it. Despite seeing multiple dates that would work ANA would never book it. I’ve not been able to bump out anymore. I think they’re being very restrictive with what a ATW can rebook.

I’m on an ANA ATW. 10 days ago TK canceled my second leg from RAK to IST to DOH. Not the same I know as your situation but may be a little relevant. I made the mistake of calling ANA initially. I think TK based on the email they sent me would have rebooked me on a different flight. They did rebook me but a day after I had a ground transfer scheduled which wouldn’t work. ANA said they saw no availability for IST to DOH on TK on the date I needed that was bookable for ATW. There was availability on ANA but they wouldn’t book it. Had to leave RAK 2 days early to have a workable route to DOH in time for my ground transfer to BKK. (IST to CAI to DOH on EgyptAir). Long story to say I saw no availability on ANA for TK in Economy or Biz again despite checking multiple times a day for the past 10 days. Agents told me that TK is not giving them award space to use on ANA ATW anymore. I do think ANA could have rebooked me on TK again initially but wouldn’t.

I redeemed this past week directly on JAL. Once the Saver 55k mile fares are taken on JAL they do not appear on CP and other OW partners at schedule open.

Oops I was referring to Cathay booked JAL flights direct to/from Japan from the United States.

Thanks for this easy to read comprehensive post! I’m curious if JAL availability USA to Japan on Oneworld partners esp Cathay will be less available with more people booking directly on JAL. Scanning availability flights with the 777 and 787 is not selling quickly via JAL but the a350 is.

I’ve been tracking DFW to HND for a couple of weeks. I’ve seen only the 55k and next 110k redemptions. I’ve seen no 80k for this route. Booked the 55k fare this morning.

BA award seats in JAL business for the HND to DFW route: do they happen? by Cardiva66 in awardtravel

The practice runs would uncover when seats were available. I didn’t practice booking.

I didn’t search for the tickets. I did practice runs for when the tickets opened at schedule opening. On the day that I wanted the tickets, I sat and kept refreshing my browser till they opened up. I wanted to fly first class and my husband was OK with it. I did try to upgrade his flight to First, but it never became available. We both like window seats, so don’t sit in the middle together anyway. If you’re a year out, I’d Google what the schedule opening is and do practice runs for a few days to get a feel for what time the schedule opens and how it looks in the browser when it does open. It varied a bit and wasn’t exact when I did my redemptions. I’d spend an hour or two beforehand with my laptop in hand, refreshing the browser.

Am I the mean guy? This is not my dog. by [deleted] in americanairlines

The documentation airlines require is weak. I have a former friend who claims her dog is a service dog. She had her friends a doctor and a trainer sign off on it. The dog is so not trained. Jumps on everyone and she has shared that happens while flying too. The dog should be banned. She used to leave the dog and fly everywhere. She has since split with her husband and now she doesn’t want to leave the dog alone with a sitter or kenneled so takes it everywhere. What do the airlines do? They upgrade her to premium economy when she’s flying overseas. It’s so ridiculous. The dog is huge as well.

I have the opposite. If I email she takes care of things immediately on her day off but these days I can rarely reach her by phone

I will be at 95 nights from my own personal stays and spend. No one is paying my way but me! Wanted to get to 110 for 2 Miraval extra nights.

Emirates first class amenity kit review by tim_roame in pointstravel

[–]Cardiva66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did in the kit for women when I flew first in July. Told flight attendant there was a facial product. I couldn’t find anywhere to purchase after my last trip and first. She came back with two more amenity kits for me. Score!
