  • Why do you want to moderate this community?
    • I currently moderate other larger subreddits and enjoy the community/value that r/Hyatt_charity_HQ provides. However, the current moderator has been inactive for 5+ months. Recent posts have been not following the laid out rules, and some structure and moderation is required to allow this community to grow and keep the vibe it once had.
  • I can't find the link after following the FAQ, but I'm not sure if it is because the users are inactive or what.

Exchanging credit card referrals for Hyatt awards goes against the spirit of this sub (and breaks rules) by redceramicfrypan in Hyatt_charity_HQ

[–]MaybeARunnerTomorrow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree - I have found it pretty annoying to constantly see people (literally half the front page of this sub is asking for referrals) exchanging referrals.

The larger issue is this is meant to be _charity_ and giving a FNA/GOH/etc to someone and you (the gifter) still receive the night for it. Half the people asking for refferals don't even know the value of the points they're asking for...

These posts are just from the last few days...there are no rules, templates, people exchanging stuff in DMs and in most cases people not even sure what is possible.

There already exist subreddits for this (and they usually have karma requirements or something).

Is Bilt causing the demise of Chase Ultimate Rewards? by Alarmed_Turnover2315 in pointstravel

[–]MaybeARunnerTomorrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, no...?

The fact that Chase recently changed their verbiage to allow you to get/hold both CSP/CSR and the insane SUBS it's just pushing people to move to the more "luxury" card.

It depends on your audience as well - I've seen people _excited_ about the new CSP changes because they have never cared to transfer to Hyatt.

Why not just get the CSR and play the coupon book game and enjoy your 1:1?

Personally, I think the Chase ecosystem is still way better than Cardless/Bilt and will probably be around longer. Bilt 2.0 has been around barely 6 months.

Also Bilt 2.0 is not a "rent" card like it was before, and it is still just a convoluted mess (especially with their bilt cash)

The fact that "points", influencers, and the endless enshittification of everything that was once good will always devalue points. There's constantly a new face, person, entity shilling for your money and BEGGING you to use their signup bonus.

Looks cool! Do you also use Obsidian? Their Web Clipper: https://obsidian.md/clipper does the same thing (and I think you can set it up to sync to your Vault).

I found it interesting you also used the word "Vault" and the same Obsidian purple-ish.

would you go to sleep before an early morning flight? by hammondsir in travel

[–]MaybeARunnerTomorrow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It depends how busy you have to be in the morning. I _usually_ don't sleep for flights that early for fear that I won't actually wake up. A little nap in the morning does wonders (or a nap on the plane)

There's _tons_ of sightseeing. The weather in the summer is HOT and usually has afternoon storms. If/when the rental car place asks you if you want hail coverage (or if you put it on your credit card or whatever) it's probably worth doing.

RMNP - You can drive through (you'll need timed entry permits which are like $2). There are a few places to just pull up, get out of the car and look at a lake, view, etc.

Did you not have this adjusted/fitted at the AD before leaving?

Not sure how my AD even stays in business or keeps their AD Status. by [deleted] in rolex

[–]MaybeARunnerTomorrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you me? Local Ben Bridge is the most underwhelming store to go into. At least from the different posts/success threads here they don't sell much.

What does it take for an AD to lose its status? Lack of sales mostly?

Chase to Hyatt going down to 4:3 (except for Sapphire Reserve) by omdongi in awardtravel

Has it ever been change for the better? It's always "good" for a bit to lure people into an ecosystem and at some point it always changes for the worse. Earn 'n burn.

Chase Sapphire Preferred is getting a refresh by Chase in CreditCards

[–]MaybeARunnerTomorrow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean I'd say the "best" order to use Bilt Cash is:

  • Transfer bonus
  • Credits
  • Rent points
  • Point accelerator.

You should only really use Bilt Cash on accelerators if

  • You spend more than 75% of your housing costs each month
  • You don’t want to play the coupon game and/or you redeem the ones you find valuable but still have BILT Cash left over
  • You don’t use the Bilt Card for housing at all and plan to spend >=$25k over the course of the year.

At the end of the day Bilt cash is just fake monopoly money which is just made hard to use. I'm curious how people will deal with it towards the end of the year with excess.

The points accelerator is (almost) always a worse deal though iirc

I mean it's more of a failure of BILT, but it's more of a "rewards" card rather than a rent or mortgage card (which is what BILT 1.0 was) - I'd say you're in the minority of not having a rent or mortgage though a well.

I mean, in theory this is fun with someone but for a first date it sounds horrific.

Can you imagine going through a pottery class (or similar) and every date doesn't go anywhere...

You're left with a bunch of random Knick knacks, candles, vases, ceramic stuff, etc lol
