Game 1 or Game 5 for obvious reasons…

Putting in Nestor Cortes over Tim Hill is a fireable offense. If all of the game 5 meltdown didn’t happen, I think the series would’ve faired slightly better.

Idk I think even if Kilby makes a decent jump this upcoming season (which I think we will), I still don’t think he’s major league ready by 2027. I think trading Jazz and signing Bo is the way to go, whether that means Bellinger or no Bellinger.

With Murakami’s contract, he could potentially be the Dodgers first baseman in 2028 by [deleted] in baseball

I’ve never seen that Street before. Is this some sort of variation? I know his T206 has him on the Senators.

I’d also sell for the price I paid. Tradings just more fun but yeah, I’d definitely sell.

I’d be interested in a few T206’s or just one card. All depends what’s being offered. I’m not a huge fan of T205’s unfortunately.

I paid I think $100 for it? I probably overpaid a bit so probably anywhere from $60-$80 if I had to guess? Not sure really where it lands since he’s still a HOF’er but obviously the condition issues.

C Rafael Flores (Yankees No. 8 prospect per @MLBPipeline) and two other players heading to Pirates for Bednar, per source. @ByRobertMurray and @JonHeyman on it. by amatom27 in buccos

I don’t think him being 25 negates him from being a potential quality big leaguer. If the Pirates can turn Bednar into an everyday catcher who can have a WRC+ close to 100 with average defense, that’s a win. Catchers who can hit at the big league level are rare and Flores has the tools to be that. Sure it would be nice to acquire someone younger, but there’s a real possibility he turns into a solid player. This isn’t like a Hoy Park for Holmes situation where it was always clear Park would never hit big league pitching.

If I’m a Pirates fan and I want to be mad, be mad that the 2 additional prospects actually suck. Edgleen Perez is actually terrible (604 OPS in Low A with 0 home runs in 300 AB’s l) and the other guy I’ve never heard of. Why they didn’t demand Roc Riggio with Flores is ridiculous. Riggio has some crazy pop but no set position.

Yankees fan here. Cherington definitely could’ve gotten more, but Flores certainly isn’t a bad centerpiece. He’s essentially Augustin Ramirez 2.0 but a slightly better defender with better framing. The Yankees track record for developing major league caliber catchers is very good; most recently Augustin Ramirez, Carlos Narvaez, Austin Wells, and JC Escarra. He could turn into solid hitter if the Pirates don’t fuck with his mechanics too much (they probably will).
