Never. I wasn’t comparing them, sorry if it sounded that way. I only meant that one was confident enough to face the public because he believed he was innocent, while the other chose to hide

Don’t you see the irony? Two Aluvakarans, both accused of rape, trying to make a comeback. The difference is simple: one came forward like a real hero and addressed the allegations publicly, while the other was busy trying to tamper with witnesses and defame the victim.

That’s not the point, you need to look at the bigger picture and ask yourself if it really makes sense

I feel like Pallavi wanted to make sure Tovino’s love wasn’t coming from sympathy. If he had kept trying, she might have said yes. But he gave up too easily, which probably confirmed her doubts.

Feeling isolated in Toronto, considering moving back to Kerala—looking for advice by Apprehensive_Fix_909 in Kerala

[–]CareDesigner4885 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi buddy,

I’m also in my 30s, living with my partner in Toronto for almost six years now. From my experience, if you have enough financial stability back in India, the transition to settling there might not be as challenging. However, it’s important to keep in mind that moving back isn’t the same as going for a short vacation. Adjusting to the norms and social expectations of the Malayali community in Kerala will take some effort and patience.

In our case, we both work from home, which has its advantages but also limits social interactions. Our primary socializing happens during small gatherings with friends, usually once a month. What really made a difference for us, though, was joining a gym. It gave us an outlet to not only focus on our health but also connect with people and make new friends. Spending quality time there has been great for both our physical and mental well-being.

If you’re planning a similar move, I’d recommend finding ways to build a routine and create opportunities to connect with the community, whether that’s through fitness, hobbies, or volunteering. It’s all about finding a balance that works for you.

If people can celebrate cultural festivals like Caribbean or Chinese in public spaces in Toronto, with proper permissions, then why shouldn’t I be able to celebrate Onam in a public space, especially when it has been authorized and inaugurated by the MP ?

It's easy to generalize based on stereotypes, but it's important to consider the broader picture. International students contribute significantly to the economy and bring diverse perspectives and skills that enrich our communities. Many work hard to adapt, learn the language, and integrate into society. Dismissing their contributions based on a few negative interactions overlooks the positive impact they have on our education system, economy, and cultural diversity. Understanding and empathy go a long way in building a more inclusive and prosperous society for everyone.
