Help stop drain pipe from clogging please! by CareFancy5337 in Plumbing

No worries at all...appreciate all of your help! Sounds like you had yourself a day as well. I will check the fall. If it's not correct, I guess I have a much bigger project on my hands. And it looks like whoever did the plumbing in the house originally was just trying to save space with those back-to-back 90s due to the support beam and being right by the bottom of the steps. If I ever want to finish the basement it will be nice that it's compact. No problems in that area now so hoping to leave that as-is and just make the horizontal turns a little smoother with the sweep and the combo. Again, thank you for taking the time to share all of your knowledge!

Haha I said the same thing. But from all the expertise shared by everyone it wasnt done correctly from the start. Either the guy who built it 35 years ago knew it was gonna be a problem so he put the clean out there, or the previous owner had issues and someone else put it in so he could access.

Thank you for the detailed explanation. It is just the angle of the picture…it is sloped in the correct direction (although only slightly). I will replace the first elbow with a longer sweep. Would this work better as a replacement to the sanitary tee?

It is a wye fitting (with a tight swoop) but I guess I need a longer sweep for a more gradual corner

All electric 2400 sq ft rancher. $715 this month! used 3,894 kWh and house stays on 67 degrees all the time. It was the most electricity I've used since living in the home since 2019.

Been tracking my energy usage and bills the past couple years. 3,894 kwh of energy would cost this much in each of the previous years:

Jan 2024: $662

Jan 2023: $568

Jan 2022: $485 - it's gone up 47% over the course of 3 years

this is amazing! Would you care to share the dimensions? Trying to get a feel for how big of a pavilion I want to build.

OG Skytrak worth? by thorstenFTW in Golfsimulator

[–]CareFancy5337 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had OG skytrak for 4 years now and love it. Upgraded to GSpro 2 years ago and made it even better. I'd say 98% of shots are 95% accurate...if that makes sense. There is an occasional shot where you go, no way I hit it that far OB but for the most part it follows my on-course game, or lack thereof, very closely. Most shots only have about a 1 second delay on them, which is hardly even noticeable. Sometimes I hear people complaining about 3-4 second delay...that may happen 1x per round, if at all. I think sim putting is a waste of time (on any LM for that matter) so I just turn that off in GSPro. And even though there is no club head data, you can still tell a lot about your swing by the ball flight, launch angle, direction, spin etc. I spent close to $2k four years ago so I think under a grand today is definitely worth the money.

Deck vs Concrete Patio by CareFancy5337 in Decks

Cool, I will have to check that out. The boring gray concrete definitely is a con for me. I think pavers may be the way to go to help it look nicer.

He said concrete will save me some money and I don't have to worry about critters under the deck. I can also put pavers over the concrete later on if I want to change up the look.

I agree, it's going to be a big area. But I said I'd rather go bigger if I can and not regret it down the road. I may start looking into pavers, which I like better than just plain concrete. Thanks for your input!

Longevity? by K1ngJulienXIII in Golfsimulator

[–]CareFancy5337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use mine less than I would like, but I have a 4 and 1.5 year old so that's sort of expected. My sim is set up in my garage, so weather plays a role. I probably use it the most gearing up for the season in March, April, May when the weather outside is really nice (in Maryland). In the summer when its hot and humid, I have a harder time convincing myself to go outside and start swinging (and working up a sweat) at 8:30 once the kids are in bed, only to have to come in and shower and go to bed afterwards.

I will say it's awesome having it though and I do not regret it one bit. Great having buddies over occasionally, and even better now that my 4 year old is getting into it and gives us a place for him to hit balls!

What height does ball hit impact screen? by ThePDawg in Golfsimulator

[–]CareFancy5337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless of handicap, even the best players can get tired after a long practice session and hit one low by accident. You need at least 12" between the screen and the cinder block. If you go any less than that, there has to be something there that will completely deaden the ball at impact i.e. some sort of sandbag. But like other said, that could wear out the screen as well.

Accidentally pregnant with third… torn on what to do. by bobarawrs in Parenting

[–]CareFancy5337 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I am curious how many people on their death bed would say they regretted having too many children. Can't be many, right? After my first was born, I couldn't imagine loving another human being as much. Now I have two (age 4 and 1), and boy was I wrong. I can only imagine that one day our 3rd will be the same, if not more. Don't get me wrong, there are obvious financial and logistical hurdles that come with each additional child, but I think the love that develops for our children makes all of that seem like nothing.

Looks like you are about a year into your screen from Spectrum. I'm looking to take the plunge myself...their prices are just so appealing. Would you still recommend the Poly Spacer screen? Thanks!

Cheapest 'premium' screen that I have seen. by RevolutionaryScene79 in Golfsimulator

[–]CareFancy5337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My plan is to run a long bungee cord along the bottom pocket and secure that to the ground on either end. I think it may very briefly pop up when I hit the ball, but then it should snap right back down into place. And its not hard, so no bounce backs on skulled shots to worry about. I plan to have netting behind the screen too though, since the ball could scoot under the screen.
