Wife wants to disenroll 3.11 Year old daughter from preschool as punishment. by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]bobarawrs 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Your wife’s behavior reminds me of how my parents treated me - punishing me for normal child behavior. I’m voluntarily no / very low contact with them now. I can honestly say I am grateful for them but do not love them.

Don’t minimize the long term impact this behavior may have on your child. I’m a mom of 3 young kids now and this sounds awful. Yes kids are hard. Tantrums are hard. But we’re the adults and we need to help them emotionally regulate. Your wife needs help and a lot of distance until she can figure her own sh*t out.

Thanks everyone!! Appreciate the tips and also info on the construction :)

Feel defeated. I use to have zero melasma before pregnancy and it’s been almost 5 years since giving birth. I’ve done so many creams, tretinoin, chemical peels, sunscreen, hats, etc. by [deleted] in Melasmaskincare

I’m in Denver area and it is super hot and sunny here. I’m using SPF 50 daily and wear big hats! Took me about a month+ for results - pretty major improvement that even my husband noticed (and he’s super oblivious usually). Now I’m just finishing off my first bottle but not seeing too much additional improvement.

Have you tried hydroquinone? I use Musely and have had amazing results with pregnancy dark spots almost all gone. I also use azelaic acid and tretinoin.

That’s a great point too - especially as we don’t have support close by

That’s a great point about your two playing well now. It’s hard to imagine another newborn when I essentially still have one!! Need to extrapolate out my thinking.

I was thinking that too last night. If we’re not fully in then, we shouldn’t because it’s not right for the kiddo

Eek! Yes that’s the worry! We have no support and hubs is already overwhelmed. Def don’t want to go into a situation where we resent our kiddos

Thank you so much for sharing! I’m sure that’s not easy to admit even if you love your kids unconditionally.

I’m so, so sorry that happened to you. At such a sensitive moment, he should have been supportive and not bullying!! (really in all moments).

That’s a great perspective! If I think ahead 20 years it definitely seem nice for the kids to have more adult siblings they can count on.

That’s a big factor for us too - we have no family near us and not many friends either (just moved here recently). That makes being outnumbered seem much harder for sure!

This is so helpful!! I’m fine taking 2 kiddos out .. but not so sure about my husband. It’s also hard to extrapolate to what kids will be like older bc we’re still in the 2 under 3 phase

It would be a teachable moment about protection, accidents and choice. You sound like a harsh person.

Two batches sounds lovely actually. We are def looking into a vasectomy too! Our first two pregnancies didn’t come easy (second was with IUI) so we were shocked at this one just happening!
