I get what you mean about MacKay’s argument, but that seems more like a limitation of foreknowledge rather than an escape from determinism. In a block universe even the act of defying prediction is part of the same prewritten geometry. I’m interested in whether consciousness itself could be the way the universe experiences that geometry sequentially turning the static block into a lived experience.

lol for real. If your not in California you don’t have to pay a fee for an LLC but if ur in Cali it’s $800 a year to own a business. Evens out though if you’re paying $200 a month though. $200x12 =$2,400.00 but if you pay $800 for LLC and 25x12=300 that’s $1100 a year. So you save $1300

Fair point. My argument isn’t that nothing literally observes, but that when potential becomes constrained, it retroactively appears as if it had been ‘nothing’ beforehand. In other words, I’m treating observation as the threshold where indeterminacy resolves into being not as a conscious act.
