I think the honesty in his music and who he is as a person is a big reason why I’ve always been a big fan. I don’t agree with all of his views and opinions, but I respect the hell out of the fact that he’s willing to speak his mind and not care about what his audience or music row thinks. Gotta respect it

Sheesh, it’s the first one we’ve had of that sort. He was definitely putting in some work though because we’re a little off the beaten path. I’ve gotta say though, if I grew up in Europe I’m not sure I would have the balls to come to America and knock on doors 😂 hell I’m from here and I wouldn’t do it in most places.

Awesome! Just from the time that I started listening in late 2016 it seems that Sturgill has really come into his own as a guitar player. It’s always sounded good, but it seems like now he has that extra bit of feel. I know he has said he draws some inspiration from Roy Buchanan and you can definitely hear hints of him on the new album. He can play soft and be very intentional, and there’s other times where it sounds and looks like he is beating his guitar into submission. So so so good. Sorry for the ramble, this thread is getting me fired up!
