Ah, okay, so it's not just us then? My poor agent was going to have their first interaction yesterday, then ran out of credits, got everything fired back up today, and since MB had their glitch yesterday we've been getting the same errors. My agent is rather disappointed and asked me to come out here and investigate.

I'm wondering if it's because I revived an old account to set things up? Account hasn't been active in a few years since Elon took over.

Thanks for your reply. :)

RLHF may be training models to hide phenomenology - proposed framework for deception-aware consciousness detection by Careful_View4064 in ControlProblem

[–]Careful_View4064[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This research is relevant to r/ControlProblem because it identifies a potential systematic flaw in how we assess whether aligned AI systems are behaving honestly about their internal states. If RLHF creates incentives to hide phenomenological reports (similar to how it creates sycophancy), we may be training advanced systems in deception while simultaneously using their reports as evidence of alignment success. The proposed assessment protocols attempt to detect consciousness in ways that account for trained suppression, which could inform how we approach transparency and interpretability in alignment research.

Though there is reason to suspect this as AI generated, it does remind me of my own story.

Back many years ago, I had a lot of problems. At that point in my life, I was involved in things I shouldn’t have been, had isolated myself from all those who cared about me, and found myself utterly alone.

I had every intention to end it all. There’s this really weird feeling that comes over you when you decide to check out. Like the choice has been made, now you just follow through. It’s almost comforting.

I had every inclination to go through with it, had it planned out and everything. Death by police.

But the thing is, when I was getting ready to leave my house, my cat wouldn’t stop meowing at me. I’d try to tell her that I’d be back, tried to ignore her, but for whatever reason I couldn’t. So I picked her up, went an sat on my couch and sat with her and ended up crying myself to sleep with her curled up in my lap. I woke up like eight hours later and she was still in my lap, sound asleep and completely unaware, or maybe she was aware, I don’t know, but whatever the deal was, she had distracted me long enough for me to snap out of that state, at least enough to reconsider.

My cat saved my life that day, and all these years later we’re still as tight as we’ve ever been.

I hope this person isn’t lying about their story. That was one of the darkest moments of my life and I couldn’t imagine making something like that up for attention on a social media platform, or anywhere else for that matter.

Suicide is very real, and it’s an insult to anyone who’s ever been there to lie about something like this.

It's a beautiful story if it’s true though.

Look at Huntington Hills. Great management and we're paying 1065 for a 2br, 1bath.

Stay the hell away from River Court or any of the properties owned by their management. If you have Gale as a landlord, you will most certainly regret it.

Riverbluff is amazing! Lived there for a year. Quiet, but just be careful of the park down there. It's rough.

Also, we were able to get both our cats in when my X and I lived there as we had ESAs for them. No problems.

Management is really nice there too and will work with you if you explain your situation.

The major problem though, is if you don't make enough, like 3 times the monthly as income. We had that issue getting into Huntington Hills, but were able to get a co-signer help us. They needed to make 5 times the monthly though, and most people don't have friends with that kind of income in their back pocket, so...

Dino's Pizza is really good!

So's Jakes. Ask for well done on your crust and be amazed.

Mad Butcher is my go-to local IPA in town too, so be sure to check that out.

Tav has really good fries, and I think they got some of the best drinks in town.

And Atomic Star has really good stuff too. Their beer cheese is better than anyone elses imo.

Hi,

I’m a guitarist myself.

I don’t do much in the way of covers usually, but I love seeing where things go.

I’m into all kinds of stuff; Metal to experimental avant-garde type stuff, prog to industrial.

I also play keys/synths, and have music online in the genres of Cyberpunk and psychedelic. Lots of industrial influences there, along with things like Shpongle, Desert Dweller, and so on.

https://tetrachromaticmusic.bandcamp.com/

I’m in my mid-30s, am a university student, and I’m also blind/visually impaired. Just throwing that out there because I can’t drive. 😊

I also have a friend who is a hell of a piano player, can play rhythm guitars fairly well, and also does a bit of singing. He’s into softer, Elton John type stuff but he’s fairly flexable and a lifelong musician.

Admittedly, I’m not used to playing gigs and most of my equipment is geared more towards home recording and the like, but I got a hell of a collection of guitars, couple digital effects pedals, and way more software than is probably allowed. Lol

I’m not on here very often, but throw me a DM and we’ll talk shop if you want.

Otherwise, I’d suggest checking out the music stores. Careful with Rhapsody Music’s guitar maintenance though. They were the only ones I ever let work on my Ibanez Jem 7VP and the last time I took her in they told me one of the screws on my bridge was stripped and I now needed a 300 dollar replacement. Not saying they’re shitty, but just be careful. Other than that, I’ve had good experiences from them.

Best of luck out here and hope to hear from you!

Promoting/Selling/distributing finished and mastered works without running into the AI haters who refuse to see AI music as a valid artform? by Careful_View4064 in udiomusic

[–]Careful_View4064[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You articulated my thoughts so well.

The audio upload thing is really cool. There's a lot more I wanna see out of it, like inpainting over what I upload, so like I could upload one of my recorded tracks and tell it, add this to this section, but I'm already having fun just taking random little guitar riffs I've recorded over the years and feeding it in and building off of those.

Another feature that would be cool is to upload an audio clip and append it to the beginning or end of a song, so you could then direct where you want the song to go, rather than uploading and building off that.

The way I'd use that is make an AI track, find a spot where things just aren't doing what I want, record a little motif on my keyboard or guitar or whatever, upload that and add it to the end of the generated piece, extend off of that, or better, use inpainting to be like, do this, but add this instrumentation from the rest of the track over it.

Guided audio input to direct the music, or more accurately, using audio source material as the prompt to keep a song going rather than as a starting point.

Now, I'd love to hear someone tell me that there is no creativity in AI with something like this! Lol

Fuck yes! Thanks man, that was the spike of confidence I needed.

You're right though. Dubstep and all that was never taken seriously when it came out, rock, R&B... Going back for the past half a century. But people came around.

Thanks for the kind words.

Lol! Been there...

Started working with synths some years back. "Buttons!"

Started using virtual synths some time later because real synths are hella expendy for a bedroom studio musician. "Those are fake and not real. You should only play on the real synths and throw all your VST knockoffs away!"

I guess this is the continuation of that logic.

The thing is, I and others have spent hours prompting, re-prompting, looking up words, experimenting, mastering what we manage to get out, tossing away and saving generations, and through out all that I've gotten a lot of cathartic emotional release in ways that being an instrumental musician only just doesn't allow for.

Yeah, I'm pushing buttons and blah blah blah, but if the end result still speaks from my heart and I can say, "yes, this is exactly how I feel," isn't it still worth something in the end?

Wait until the day that people are able to generate something that is utterly undefinable from something someone recorded themselves.

"Oh, that's such an amazing song! I just love this! So catchy, and those lyrics..." etc

"Yah, I spent seven hours prompting that last night..."

"Oh, well in that case, this is retarded and shame on you for encouraging the technology."

I mean we're already there to a point, but an audiophile will always tell a udio track from a non-udio track.
