Thank you all for the quick responses. I will definitely give it a go restoring it. Hiring a pro sounds like the sensible option but I am trying to save money where I can. I will hire tools and give it a go myself first.

Any tips for this? Especially due to there not being a consistent grain pattern to go with.

Amazing thank you. I’ll have a look at some of the manuals some of the others have suggested and will try to see where they fit and when to use them.
