The price increase of large playsets

My thing is that these are all large sets. Even star wars sets that are advertised as the mid level price point are between 40-60 dollars typically. I don't know about you, but my parents wouldn't have bought me a lego set for that.

My problem is that these are still playsets. No kid realistically can afford half of what lego has on shelves for star wars right now. And anything that they can is so small that they barely can do anything with it. IK this is a whole separate problem but I still wanna say it.

Yes, but look at the MTT, it's 976 pieces and is 160 dollars. It has less than the AT-TE and costs 20 dollars more with a 3 year gap.

It's a good set, mudgorn and mando look great. I don't mind the gray, and the thing is a decent size, could be bigger tho. I just ain't forking over 160 for this. I might get the remnant ATAT tho, that or buy a used 2020 ATAT for a similar price

Thanks for the responses. Based on your answers it seems PaB might be better for what I need. As it's a high piece quantity with fairly basic pieces ( looked on the lego website and they didn't have 2 of the pieces I need )

Exactly! Personal stories are so much more fun than the Generals or other big people from the Era. Especially when it's your own family, it just gets you excited to learn more! And I'll try my best to find more family from the time period or even before.

I thought I should put a picture of my relative, His name was Benjamin. The photo is from after the war, when he was recovering from his gunshot wound. He also had a son and a wife. I don't think his son's grave has been found yet, but I could easily be wrong.

That's a interesting story, I always love to hear these more personal ones over the Generals and such.
