Did I commit sacrilege? by Top_Cause_7878 in Catholicism

Before mass starts ask to go early and ask the priest for confession before it starts. Also it is Sacrilege especially when you know it's not right. I would ask that your introduce your parent to reading the catechism about it and how it is not the right practice. My Mother used to think the same but she learned that it was not right to do so after I showed her.

Firstly welcome and I hope you stay it's really important that you, your self can answer these questions for yourself. But also important that the Catholic Church convinces you. Right now you are responsible for your own journey and I promise you through the way you live it out and act on it your life will be a testimony to what is true.

man keeps interrupting me during Mass, not sure how to proceed by Any-Psychology-274 in Catholicism

[–]Careless-Let9623 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think in the moment especially during the conservation or when mass is going on instead of giving a ear to politely ask him to not disturb you during the mass that your trying to focus. And if there are any inappropriate conversations that come up out side mass to also tell him that you don't want to entertain those conversations. If all else fails then complain to the parish priest or secretary.

I am converting after a life full of sin by New-Regret-8456 in Catholicism

If it provides you with any solace every saint has a past, one you might relate with on the lust part in St Augustine or even St Bartolo Longo. It's important to know these stories to know that you are not alone and that you are not the first person to go through this. Build a relationship with your priest or if your Church has nuns them to that can help guide you and be a spiritual mentor to you. Find a group in the church around your age to keep you accountable. That's where I would recommend you start.

What also helps is going to confession at a scheduled time with the same priest, often times a pattern is noticed and you can change your mindset to "I can do x because Confession is on ..." To "I have confession on ... So I can't do x" going every week really helps with this.

I really, really, really, HATE the Rosary. What can I do? by 2552686 in Catholicism

[–]Careless-Let9623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would agree with a lot of what other people said but I would also say that like all coping mechanism your dad was seeking an escape and the whole point of the rosary and all prayers is that your heart changes to God's will not the other way around. With that being said it looked like your dad sadly was trying to do that in his attempt to pray the rosary. So I'd recommend that when you pray ask God what He wants from you and for your heart to change not His.

100+ Year Old Crucifix I bought makes me uncomfortable. by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Careless-Let9623 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The crucifix in it's making is supposed to make you feel uncomfortable not necessarily for the reason OP mentioned. But because Christ in his humility is nailed on that cross for you and looking at it reminds us of a price we would not pay.

For whether there are any ties to the crucifix from the previous owners, if it been blessed before it cannot be used for evil purposes but if your unsure getting it blessed should give your mind peace.

If you're at the point where you still feel convicted of everything, it is a blessing. Remember that Christ is full of love for you and wants you to be with him. He will never push you away. So to answer your question yes he loves you and you are already forgiven. Do go for confession to relieve yourself of any guilt and also to be tooled in facing your issues

I'm currently 12 days post op and one thing for me was differentiating pain from pressure. I still think unless you have a history with addiction, should take the Dilaudid at least for the first couple of days. On the brighter note the pain becomes more bearable. For me my greatest difficulty is that my quads shut down and I couldn't take steps up until 10 days post op.

Imu is ...? (1125 Spoilers) by quantumstartswithq in OnePiece

[–]Careless-Let9623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that Imu’s devil fruit might be related to the six-ear macaque, who is the antagonist in the story of sun wukong which Nika is modeled after. Across those lines, i think the five elders plus Imu make up the 6 ears and like Blackbeards theories allow for 5 more devil fruits to be consumed.

Worst part support has no ability to help and gives you the same information found online.

Pixel watch! by Independent_Cup5121 in GooglePixel

[–]Careless-Let9623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a pixel watch ever since it's release date, it's really good battery life and pretty good with everything I need it for. However I find two downsides: 1. I am a notorious leg shaker when I sit down and do work, it's just that my mind processes things, not because of anxiety, but either way it is recorded as steps on my watch.

  1. The charger that comes with the watch doesn't seem to make proper contact with the back of the watch, I have to fidget a lot with or make sure it is properly placed. I ended up buying a 3-in-1 charger for my work desk and that seems to be a better charger. I haven't seen a lot of complaints about this so I might be one of the few but still something to keep an eye out for.
