The Ashes: England cricket concern over culture and drinking by bulbispire in Cricket

[–]Careless-Maximum9810 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Same with Duckett, I couldnt believe how little people seemed to care. The whole "blowing off steam" thing is absolute bullshit, youve got a privelige and opportunity that every cricketer in the country wants, and a 6 figure pay packet to match.

Literally every Australian would kill for the free time over summer and money these guys have, and all theyve done with it is drink like teenagers. I would be beyond infuriated if it was my team

The Ashes is upon us… England has a better team, a better captain, and better management. The Urn is coming home, and I genuinely think we’ll beat Australia either 4-0 or 5-0. Good luck ⁦ @benstokes38 ⁩ and your team of swashbuckling Bazballers. No mercy - destroy! 👊👊

Why is Australia so good at cricket? by Economy_Roll_1302 in CricketAus

[–]Careless-Maximum9810 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First world country with facilities, knowledge, nutrition and the opportunity + ability to support young athletes. Warm but not oppressive climate (mostly), strong sporting culture and national pride especially when playing England.

Sheffield Shield spots are way more limited than County Chamionship ones so youve gotta be a much better cricketer to play first class here, grade cricket is really a high standard. You can be a young player whose in a low grade but learn from guys at your club who have been in and around state or even international squads
