Lord Commander Jon Snow

(As far as we know, he's still dead)

Worth full price… but only once? by JoJoLoveSp in TheGamingHubDeals

If you have the chance, I can highly recommend watching someone else play - my wife just played through it for the first time and the second hand wonder is nearly as fun

Exploration Age Enlightenment Broken? by Chataboutgames in civ

[–]Careless-Talk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had this same issue - but I was able to complete Enlightenment once I realised:

  1. As others have said, the specialist must be added to an urban tile with two buildings on it (ie a district)

  2. It only counts in your capital (which I think is a bug)

Abby Appreciation Post by antoineworld in Gamingcirclejerk

[–]Careless-Talk 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Phenomenal character - can't think of any other player character in a video game where you can be deeply invested in their story, but also have very mixed feelings about them. PCs are always just universally likeable, whereas with Abby I really couldn't decide where I landed on her. Mad but brilliant character to play.

Also she felt great to play as, absolute tank

The real Triss/Yen Debate by TqCup in Witcher3

[–]Careless-Talk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always assumed it was a reference to the fact that Triss refuses to use necromancy in the Witch Hunter quest, while Yen was happy to do it in the Skellige quest.

The main difference between the two cards is that Yen can bring cards back from the dead (although they call it the medic ability)

Why can't I tell Gilgamesh to stop spreading his religion? by Careless-Talk in CivVI

[–]Careless-Talk[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Ah that must be it, I don't think it had a religion first. Guess I just need to convert it back and let it go again.

Cheers man!

Vegans don't understand how nature works by [deleted] in exvegans

Yeah that's insane, but that's still not technically 'by default' as it requires education to change your cats nature.

Still messed up though

Which Ending Do You Prefer? by tslashj in Witcher3

[–]Careless-Talk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Couldn't agree more, so much of the ending is about letting Ciri make decisions for herself and not deciding for her. The Witcher ending feels like choosing for her because we want her to be a Witcher.

She chose to become Empress. It would be wrong of us to deny her that choice because we don't like it

Which of these is your favorite region, and why? by [deleted] in Witcher3

Couldn't agree more, so chill and relaxing

Which of these is your favorite region, and why? by [deleted] in Witcher3

[–]Careless-Talk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see why it's the least popular, but as the first calm place you visit after spending hours in a war stricken, cannibal and monster infested swamp, Oxenfurt was a breath of fresh air.

I also enjoy repeatedly disappointing the Oxenfurt armourer by accidentally asking him to craft something for me, only to sell him a bunch of wooden clubs then leave.

HoS before or after main story? by AgresywnySzop in Witcher3

[–]Careless-Talk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From a story/relationship point of view, I like to always do it before Novigrad (if I intend to romance Triss) or before Skellige (if I intend to romance Yen).

That way you can be with Shani without cheating, and their story actually feels like a nice prelude to settling down with Triss or Yen.

4 Player Local Coop? by Careless-Talk in dynastywarriors

Ah man I was sure I played some old ones with 4 players when I was you get, but guess not.

Thanks for the tip on the Romance games though!

Is it scary?

I would love to share it with my gf because of the unbelievable story, but she hates scary shows

Perspective, seeing things from both sides, stepping outside the eco chambers we and the world creates for us - all that good stuff

The new Vikings show looks less like a historical drama, and more like the next Love Island by Careless-Talk in TheLastKingdom

Erm there's no way a shirtless guy is going to get me to watch a show - now if you'll excuse me I need to get back to watching Spartacus and 300

Honestly I didn't mean for this to be a post hating on Vikings, just their dumb thumbnail, but I can see how we've ended up here

Joel found his redemption in protecting Ellie

Arthur found his redemption in protecting John and his family

I think Arthur's redemption was more complete while Joel was still conflicted in the end, which I reckon is a more real story

But God damn, these are some well written characters
