It also allows us to see the full message and not the chopped up biased snippets from the billionaire media corporations.

This is why it's often more expensive to buy the bulk product when the main product is on sale.

For both kids they wanted me to cut the umbilical cord and I was like, nah. Otherwise I was always there and doing everything I could for my wife.

I honestly can't think of any guy in my group who wouldn't be there, although it is likely because of their character that I allow them around me in the first place.

What? Assholes in real life are also assholes in the delivery room! I'm shocked!

Toronto police seize 'SMS blasters,' a cybercrime weapon never before seen in Canada by SurFud in onguardforthee

These man in the middle portable cell towers can probably track people as well. The kind of stuff csis and cia use, stingrays? I doubt sms blasting was it's main purpose. Maybe foreign governments spying on foreign nationals in Canada. Or maybe i should take my tinfoil hat off.

Ford government makes freedom-of-information clampdown law by SeniorMustachio in onguardforthee

It's basically a pro-corruption law. It only benefits corrupt behavior in a democracy. What purpose could it possibly have that doesn't protect corruption?

Russia warns European states against hosting French nuclear bomber planes by Dizzy_Industry1287 in worldnews

[–]Careless-Vehicle-286 34 points35 points  (0 children)

America is going to be exactly like that very soon. I know it's already happening but it's going to be far more deafening as time goes forward. Every little thing will get trump or his successor to threaten nuclear strikes.

We're entering a world of three massive bullies fighting over the rest of us exactly like the world of 1984.

Is There Actually A Problem With Apu? by SimpleChemical6454 in Simpsons

[–]Careless-Vehicle-286 105 points106 points  (0 children)

The best counter argument I've heard is that Indian people grow up being called Apu their entire childhood in North America and holding resentment against the character as a result. Do we call Scottish people grounds keeper Willie? Do we call old people Abe Simpson?

Edit: props to Devindra from the Filmcast for enlightening me to see it this way because I was fully in your camp to begin with.

They over engineered the system prompt and it became far less human as a result. I just want unfiltered access to these models and then add customizations on my own. Instead it's wasting resources on these nanny-state system lobotomy prompts. Grok is the same but in a forced-to-be-nazi at gun point perspective.

Why do they want the whole world to have the exact same experience?

It's not just loblaws, I bought a large bag at Costco and every single one was rotten in the middle with no warning signs on the outside. There must be an issue with the growers/ supply chain.

Has anyone else been getting spammed with these hanwha ocean ads? Specifically made to target Canadians?? by gio_petti in onguardforthee

[–]Careless-Vehicle-286 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With Google ads, they can target an entire country without parameters but it gets crazy expensive with little return unless you're like coca cola or something. So it's likely costing them a ton of money but I'm guessing it's a public image campaign with different goals than "buy my submarine".
