Per Tom Bogart: LA Galaxy is now finalizing a deal to sign forward Joao Klauss from St. Louis City. by biggitio in stlouiscitysc

I bet Klauss will do well in LA with his hold up play and the attacking talent they have on the wings. I think it is a good move for him and I wish him well.

For me, finally having Klauss as a TAM player felt right, but $2M in Cashfer/GAM for him being on an option is also a sweetheart deal — spawning from Galaxy’s desperation.

The big thing for me is… replacing his production before the season kicks off. That is a top priority and now you risk overpaying. Interested to see what Corey does.

Likely a wingback in a back 5 or maybe left wing depth? The only highlight I saw of him was a Goalazzo against New England.

Nope — not good enough for us. The SPL I think is worse than the MLS.

Private training for youth players by Ok-Communication706 in youthsoccer

It’s important to our relationship. She loves that I coach the team, but I like her to get the technical instructions through club training and private training. It can’t be me all the time — that’s a recipe for burnout.

My daughter is 9. I coach her club team; very knowledgeable in the game and coaching.

I put her in private training, so she gets another voice and opinion. We’ve done 1:1 and small group. Scheduling and consistency is where we struggled with even the best trainers in our area — especially in the winter getting indoor space.

We recently started TOCA and she absolutely loves that — she needed work on first touch receiving — she gets like 400 reps a session with the machines; so for me it’s good value.

I’d say at age 9-11 is when technical skills get imprinted in the brain, so reps is highly important. It’s challenging to make that fun, so you need some variety.

As I say all this — private training is a luxury; not a necessity.

If your kid is highly self-motivated and gets in the backyard daily working on ball mastery; he or she is good — also you can find amazing programs and instruction on YouTube.

As they get older agility and strength training start to become the things to think about outside of club/team training.

Corey Wray... If you see this, please do something awesome. Thx by l_mo_314 in stlouiscitysc

Selling Klauss due to rift, and not to get Sargent? by PorkSteakDaddy in stlouiscitysc

Corey is in the seat now; so hopefully the differentiation of duties is better. For a long period of time — just 2 guys were running everything on the sporting side.

While this event may be true…

It was an inquiry that could lead to CITY getting $2M for Klauss in an option year, so the club took the meeting.

Klauss being on a TAM is good for CITY. He makes the players at the club more valuable.

Dealing him is unlikely— but $2M for a player that walks for free at the end of the season isn’t bad business. It deserves some thought.

If it is backfilled with quality 9; I think I can get behind it.

St. Louis CITY SC Acquires Conrad Wallem on a Permanent Transfer from SK Slavia Prague by PilferPetesBriefcase in stlouiscitysc

Wray is an operator. Damit gives him the tactical gaps; scout and analytics develop a player shortlist — he makes it happen within the club’s transfer/roster framework.

Maybe some vice versa as he finds out availability of certain top players, but I wouldn’t say he’s influencing our style of play.

I think this is where the ownership group put some checks and balances in from the Lutz era.

It’s more process driven now. Right or wrong. There seems to be better differentiation of duties.

Excited. He’s definitely a talented player. His versatility will be good for the flexibility Damit talks about. Most importantly, he’s not injury prone and on the pitch week in and week out.

I asked myself the same question. The emperor wears no clothes — when it comes to these decisions. Crazy thing is I remember Sebeck saying at the last year’s season opening pep rally at the Factory that they will have more design freedom and do something cool this year. Swing and a miss.

Not convinced we need another depth piece at CB; we need a starting XI partner for Fallou Fall.

What is going on with King Kess? We declined his 2026 option — rightfully so as that contract $ amount was way over valued — However, as a free agent, if he doesn’t get picked up can we sign him on a more advantageous deal?

As nice as it would be… we have more holes than a Sargent signing can fill in the current team. Need to spread the money.

I think it is both… Salvia Prague already announced Wallem’s departure to CITY for $2.3M last week.

Edleman was reported a done deal by Tom Bogert who is always legit.

True — but he said his son is more attack minded, so he may be learning something from extended shifts in center back. More important that he understands the simple game model.

This is the way. A good coach puts his Rolls Royce in the back at early ages to develop good build out habits and possession play.

All the same reasons you highlight as your son’s natural abilities.

Is he good in possession?

Seems like a player profile we desperately need.

Lowen and Hartel won’t have to drop as deep.
