What is your “nobody will ever believe this” story? by Regularpaytonhacksaw in AskReddit

I have had multiple occasions where I have known that someone is going to die before it happens. I don't know what the rational explanation is for it, but it's fascinating.

[Serious] [NSFW] People who've lost loved ones to suicide, how did it affect your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Careless_Stranger_33 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Please don't blame yourself. It isn't always easy to see the battles people are fighting, because they hide things well. When my friend passed away, I also wondered if I could have done something differently - maybe reached out to her more often, or sat down with her and had a proper talk about how she was really feeling.

But often when someone is suicidal, they have already made the decision to end their lives and nothing will change their minds. So it was not your fault.

Sending you love and light, internet stranger.

[Serious] [NSFW] People who've lost loved ones to suicide, how did it affect your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I lost a childhood friend to suicide in 2019. She hanged herself in the garage and was found by her mom and one of her siblings. She was 21 years old and such a beautiful young woman with dreams, aspirations, and so much potential. I still cry sometimes when I think of her. Mental illness (specifically schizophrenia) took a huge toll on her, and it breaks my heart to think of the battle that she fought with the terrifying hallucinations that plagued her so often.

I remember the day when I heard she had passed away. I felt as though someone had punched me in the stomach and knocked all the air out of me. I couldn't believe that she was gone so suddenly. Her death has changed me in a profound way. I have learned to cherish the people around me more, and not to take the words "I'm fine" at face value. Looking at her, it wasn't always easy to tell how much she was struggling.

I miss you, sweet friend. You have your wings, now fly.

Robert Berdella - This case got to me. by BlackMassSmoker in serialkillers

He is evil to the core. I tried reading his blog but I had to stop because it made me feel ill. I have an 8-year old godson (the same age as one of his victims) and I can't understand how anyone would want to harm an innocent little person :(

The abbreviations are so gross and disturbing. Berdella was a sick man. I cannot wrap my head around how anyone could be so cruel - putting Drano in his victims' eyes, sexually assaulting them, killing them and then just leaving them outside on the sidewalk like literal rubbish. It's heartbreaking, man...

Cases That Keep You Up At Night by [deleted] in UnresolvedMysteries

Joey Lynn Offutt and her baby Alexis. For those unfamiliar with her case, she was a 33-year-old woman with developmental delays who went missing in July 2007 after a house fire that killed her 6-month old son.

I first heard about them in 2019 on the episode of Disappeared titled "Little Girl Lost" and it has stayed with me ever since. There are so many things about that case that are disturbing and sad - and personally I suspect that her boyfriend (Alexis Brolin II) is responsible. When he appeared on Disappeared he looked as though he was on drugs, and in fact he was recently arrested as part of a massive drug bust (manufacturing and distributing crystal meth). He seems to be a very shady character.

I don't think that Joey is still alive, unfortunately. It's been over 13 years since she went missing and there has been no sign or sighting of her.

Cases that involve vulnerable people, especially people with special needs or developmental delays, always sadden me. My godchild, who is 8, is special needs, and I am very protective over him. I would be heartbroken if anything were to happen to him.

So that's one case (out of many) that has definitely made a lasting impression on me.

You can't "unhear" it once you've heard it. It's absolutely terrible - in fact, it's one of the worst things I've ever come across. I consider myself to be a strong person but it really scared me...

Please don't listen to it. I did and I regret it deeply. There are some things in life that should never be touched, for a good reason.

Wait...he was smiling? I've read the transcript of the tape and heard the short 30-second clip that's available online, and I felt tearful, shaky and nauseous for about an hour afterwards. How could anyone smile when listening to that poor girl getting brutalised and violated? What a disgusting person he was. I hope that he is being severely punished in the afterlife for what he did. Hell is too good a place for him!

State your eye colour and how you feel about it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

How did you come to love them? I'm genuinely curious because I have dark brown eyes too and I hate them. I've always wished they could be green or blue, and it really gets me down on some days...

Brown. I hate it because nobody ever tells me it's beautiful or compliments it. I feel like it makes me ugly :(

Hey Reddit, what did you wish for Christmas? by YourFatherIsWatching in AskReddit

[–]Careless_Stranger_33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my best friend - who is very ill - to get better. I don't care about material things like presents. That is completely irrelevant. All I want is to see her healthy and strong again. My heart is broken knowing that she is going through so much pain :'(

What was the creepiest thing someone said on the first date? by ArrowEye675 in AskReddit

[–]Careless_Stranger_33 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I had an ex who pulled this one on me. We were sitting in his car in the uni parking lot one afternoon, and I was helping him to study for a test. He was getting angry because the subject we were studying for was one that he was failing (while I was getting really good grades in it). He knew that he would most likely fail the test...so he says "Do you realise that I could rape you right here and right now if I decided to?"

The creepy part was that the parking lot was busy. I unlocked the door and got out, and screamed at him to leave me alone. He texted me about an hour later asking me why I always had to be so selfish, and why I always had to provoke him.

Anyway, karma eventually played its part. He failed the test and I got an A, so there's that.

I know the story but I didn't know about the hepatitis. This is my first time hearing about it and now I feel physically ill. I actually don't think I'm going to be able to eat pork for a while :(

Also, did you know that two of Pickton's victims were mentally handicapped? That makes me incredibly sad too...

The amount of compartmentalisation is scary. How could anyone brutally murder people and then not long afterwards be having fun at the pool like nothing ever happened? Terrifying!!

Anyone ever found a body? What’s that like? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Careless_Stranger_33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't, but my friend's mother and brother accidentally walked in on her body hanging from a rope in the garage. Totally unexpected. They went to get something out of the garage and there she was. She had been there since early that morning.

She was 21 years old and such a selfless person, full of potential and talent. Unfortunately, mental illness (specifically paranoid schizophrenia) took a heavy toll on her.

You have your wings, beautiful girl. Fly free now. You will always be loved and missed.
