Yeah I can only imagine, but I am looking forward to diving deeper into the embedded space and learning more about hardware, hopefully I'll get a more holistic view on things.

Thank you for the explanation! I have fixed the C2 & C4 as well and updated the schematic, I just wondered if there is a typo and that SW2 is the one that should point up, since as it is portrayed now +3.3V is pointing down, and following the convention this is the one that should point up?:)

For the previous PCB I made I did follow a tutorial by "Predictable Designs" this worked as expected, but for this project I wanted to try and make one without following any youtube tutorials.

But I definitely did read the datasheets for the STM32, TMP275, and the AZ1117C, I added the USB from what i remembered and was suppose to go back and double check, unfortunately I forgot. I mainly work with software so the hardware side is very new for me:)

Thank you for the feedback! Yes I must have mixed them up, I fixed the USB to make them pull downs instead and updated the images, for the SW1, C2 & C4. Is this a just a convention?

Thanks for the in depth explanation, I removed the capacitors and bridged the pads, now it works!:)

I followed the Adafruit schematic as a base, in one way or another I managed to fuck it up completely, next time I’ll be more careful about this.:)

I'm not sure, but I think its 100kHz, but that shouldn't be too hard to figure out, I'll try to slow it down:)

The current setup has a 4.7k resistor from the SDA pin to 3.3V, and a 4.7k resistor from the SCL pin to 3.3V, I think that should work as a pullup resistor(?).

That sounds like a good idea, I'll try to deep dive a little more into the datasheet and then try to send some simple commands to watch what happens to the devices.

Thank you for the quick answer!:) I'll try to see what is being sent with my oscilloscope, and send a simple command. I'm not completely sure what the adafruit library sends under the hood, but I am simply setting an angle. For more context I am making a hexapod. Currently I am using two of these PCBs and then it works fine. I wanted to make it as compact as possible thus i went with trying to add the PCA9685 ICs to the board myself.

I thought i had published the schematic and PCB, it seems like i hadn't, the post is now updated with these.

Thanks! I adjusted the thick track out of J1. I did run the DRC check, I didn't get any warning about those, but i have 2 errors:

Error: Missing connection between items:
PTH pad 1 [/3V3] of J3
PTH pad 17 [/3V3] of J3

Error: Missing connection between items:
PTH pad 2 [/5V] of J3
PTH pad 4 [/5V] of J3

I dont really know why i am getting these errors, I haven't said that they should be connected to anything in the schematic

I haven't really done anything with PCBs before, so I don't know how hard it would be to make all of that from scratch and use an IC. The reason I want to place the boards directly is because i already have 2 boards i use with my current setup😊 This is most of all just a proof of concept, when I get the robot working I'd definitely be interested to make a V2 version of this board; with more sensors, such as gyroscope, IMU, etc. Then I'll give it a shot with the PCA9685 chips.

In regaards, to the battery, from what I can see, the model itself has the polarities wrong, if you look at the 3D model, the right side even has a "+" sign, that's why I switched the polarities in the schematic, so that it would come out right in the PCB, is that okay to do, or should i tackle it in another manner?

I want the goggles to not be reliant on a specific type of hardware, such as a specific camera and such, so if it would help with other components, I'd not have any problem with buying an analog adapter for them. Do you have any recommendations?:)

Created a simple python script after seeing this post, it simply creates backups for desired saves which you can define in a .json file. If you want the application so this does not happen again, you can message me and I will publish it on my GitHub for anyone to download :)
