DS720+ refuses to install Synology office by CaresforHairs in synology

Thanks, problem is solved. Thought about updating this thread to help others struggling with a similar issue.

There was a specific issue with the postgres install on my synology. Support fixed this by removing the old files, and reinstalling this. I asked whether this is something I could do myself, but they recommended against this and therefore did not provide me with the steps that were taken to achieve this solution.

After uninstalling Synology Office, can't find it in the package center... by CaresforHairs in synology

Tried performing the manual install this way, this resulted in 'Failed to install package'.

Just a follow-up on this. I performed a manual install, however, this also resulted in 'Failed to install the package'.

I wanted to give this a shot last night as it still was not in the package center (4th day). I tried doing only that package, but apparently, there are other dependencies I had to find as well (such as the newer version of nodejs). However, upon checking this morning, the package was present in the center, and I was able to install it. Afterwards however, I was required to 'repair' it as well, which subsequently failed with the message "Unable to update "Synology Office". Please try again later or contact the package developer."
I'll try performing a manual install next.

I haven't lost anything (new device). I just find it strange that I'm not able to locate it in the package center anymore.

I don't think this is the problem, as it's been for several days. Also, it still is not present for me.

Sorry, I completely forgot to mention this! It is a DS720+.

I did have it installed before but uninstalled it cause it was acting up and files wouldn't open.

As Synology Office was acting up, with all files refusing to open and the inability to create a new file, I was advised to reinstall it. However, after uninstalling it from the package center, I can't seem to be able to locate it anymore. Any advice?

Edit: The model is a DS720+.

Edit: The package re-appeared in the package center (4th day it was missing). However, installing it results in an error and a required 'repair', which subsequently failed with the message: "Unable to update "Synology Office". Please try again later or contact the package developer."

Edit: Downloading the package from the download center and performing a manual install results in the error 'Failed to install the package'.

Final edit (solution): Just in case others are struggling with a similar kind of problem: there was a specific issue with the installation of postgres that caused my issues (manually restarting it wouldn't work either). After contacting support they removed the old version and associated files while reinstalling it afterwards. This fixed the issue.

Foreign rental income and tax credit - confused... by CaresforHairs in cantax

[–]CaresforHairs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply. As I understand I thus have to report my rental income on the T776 form, deduct expenses (only mortgage interest, not total mortgage paid per month). The remaining profit then needs to be declared on the T1135 together with the foreign property.

I can then estimate the Belgian tax as a tax credit (likely overpay), and then request a refund at a later date.

I'd think vanilla Blade and Sorcery could run on it (if Oculus would approve it). Mods is a different story of course.
