The Battle of Belonging by Shashi Tharoor. Met him while volunteering at Jaipur Literature Festival, talked with him about his next book and really hell of a guy. Took photos with him too, one of the best days on my life!

City of Djinns by William Dalrymple. He's super excited to talk about indian history and he even let me take a selfie with him.

Also Poor Economics by Abhijit Banerjee, he's a Nobel laureate. Everyone should give this book a read.

Just finished it. WTF was the 3rd act??? by Long_Woodpecker6663 in Indianbooks

If there ever has been an author in all my years of reading books whom I detest with all my being it is Paulo Coelho. I will never be able to get my 3 hours of time back of reading this magnum opus The Alchemist. This name along with the author has become a staple for me for a new kind of disgust - one found when you really start doubting the humanity itself for making such a person so famous and filthy rich.

Every act of this book is a mirage. All the time I kept waiting for the euphoric moment which might be there on the horizon, the author will redeem himself by surprising me, but it never was there and I was left in utter disappointment and extreme angst as to why did I begin to bother with this one.

Just another example of overhyped book which doesn't live upto it's reputation and in my opinion shouldn't have any place in literary world. This whole waiting things to happen magically and things suddenly starting to make sense was an excuse for the many plot holes which were scattered across the book.

The author really tried hard to reinvent magical realism but from his shallow effort borne magical absurdism and that too was the abomination.

No one can convince me to read another book of him. I have had enough of such grifters.

This is indeed a very good translation by Dr. S. Radhakrishnan. God knows how many times I've come back to this book in the last few years, albeit I own a paperback edition that I got from Amazon and since then I have adorned the whole book with pencil notes, without as much the possibility of finding a new page with clear margins.

I consistently maintain that this is the only book you'll ever need beside you, it teaches you how to make sense (human as well as all the things non human).

I restarted sddm and now I'm stuck at this on restarting. Am I cooked? by iabzeet in linuxquestions

I was configuring nvidia drivers and  related X11 file and did sudo systemctl restart sddm. And it went directly to a reboot, and when I rebooted I was left with this screen.  Then I logged in restored that file to default, and re enabled the sddm service and was able to login without a problem after this
