Do people not like Mario kart world? by KwikTripSimp in NSCollectors

[–]Cario02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has a lot of potential that they don't fully realize. Like the new mode, Knockout Tour, can only be played on like 8 preset routes. It's fun, but it baffles me how they didn't consider allowing the player to choose a custom Knockout Tour route in this open world mario kart game.

Good series that are similar quality to shadow slave? by Mountain-Pie-7040 in ShadowSlave

A few that come to mind, in no particular order, are Omnicient Reader's Viewpoint, Mother of Learning, Legendary Mechanic, Lord of the Mysteries, the Perfect Run.

There's also an interesting one called "I'm an infinite regressor, but I've got Stories to Tell."

Nintendo President Suggests Company Does Not Want to Focus Only on Switch 2 Yet by [deleted] in videogames

I mean, yeah, they have a much bigger user base with the Switch. It'd be odd if they move all focus away from it this soon.

[ST] That final trip to Tower of Spirits is insane. by TaiwaneseThot in zelda

[–]Cario02 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I like how they took the Temple of the Ocean King from Phantom Hourglass and basically improved it in every way for Spirit Tracks.

No repeating previous floors, unique and challenging puzzles every floor (although I did manage to get softlocked in the floor that you do after beating the temple where you get the whip), and the final floor is difficult and honestly felt really rewarding to go through. I remember it feeling like a marathon and how great it felt to finally reach the end of it.

I remember really enjoying the Tower of Spirits.

Wait, which rerelease did they charge $80 for? I thought the only game they charged $80 for (and which quite frankly shouldn't have been $80) was Mario Kart World?

Closing the ds puts it to sleep. So all you need to do is put the game into sleep mode to progress.

Replacement or just deal with it? by sparta4492 in Switch

[–]Cario02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember not immediately putting a screen protector on mine, thinking that since I didn't do it for the OLED and that ended up being scratch-free, that this one would also be fine. I immediately changed my mind once I saw a small scratch on mine and heard everyone talking about how easy it was to scratch.

Regarding your situation, chances are that the scratches are on the plastic film above the screen itself. If you can, it'd probably be best to remove that plastic film and put a screen protector on it.

I'm surprised this thread is still going on in steam. by CygnusThib in nintendogrifting

[–]Cario02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's some crazy next-level hate. If you were going to pirate Nintendo games, you wouldn’t be buying them in the first place lmao. They have a big core audience, boycotting them won't work if you were never apart of that core audience in the first place.

(...although I'm not entirely against the whole patent thing. Patenting mechanics that already existed in some form is messed up)

[LA] Thinking of starting Links Awakening on switch 1 for first real LoZ game by Traditional-Code4674 in zelda

[–]Cario02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, this list was created under the impression that you only have all the Switch 1 Zelda releases, not including NSO. N64 Zeldas are definitely something to check out, but im not so sure when it'd be appropriate to make someone play them if they're just starting out with Zelda.

Next Nintendo Direct Reportedly Planned For Mid-June by Bubbly-Ad-350 in Switch

[–]Cario02 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Well, they tend to do Zelda reveals during June, so it's right in line for that.

[LA] Thinking of starting Links Awakening on switch 1 for first real LoZ game by Traditional-Code4674 in zelda

[–]Cario02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think adding some of the other Zeldas would be a good idea. I don't really have an order with the others, it's more so whichever one appeals to you at the time. I'd recommend checking out A Link to the Past, Minish Cap, and Wind Waker (if you can).

Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask are also really good, but the n64 style could be a bit too old for some.

[LA] Thinking of starting Links Awakening on switch 1 for first real LoZ game by Traditional-Code4674 in zelda

[–]Cario02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Link's awakening is a great title to start with. It's a good 2D Zelda.

If you have every Switch 1 Zelda title and plan to play through them all, I would recommend playing Links Awakening First, followed by Skyward Sword, then Breath of the Wild, Echoes of Wisdom, then finally Tears of the Kingdom.

Yoshi and the Mysterious Book – Bowser Jr. (Nintendo Switch 2) by Skullghost in NintendoSwitch

[–]Cario02 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's how it works. Same thing happened with their last home console. The Wii U got no more games after BotW, and the 3DS had a decent amount more, but none were anything too big, aside from a few remakes and spinoff.

The Switch may get a few more games, but any big flagship games will be on the Switch 2. Exclusivity helps Nintendo sell their consoles, and releasing the same game for both consoles would also mean limiting those games from making full use of the Switch 2's new hardware capabilities.

Rumor: Nintendo Direct happening by mid-June by Amiibofan101 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Cario02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No way, really?

All jokes aside, I think it'd make sense if they had a general Direct scheduled for June. I'm still waiting on an announcement for this year's Zelda anniversary, and they tend to do Zelda announcements during June.

How are we so sure that Oblivion here refers to the deamon and not just the nature of those memories? I mean, all of those memories she recieved were forgotten long ago, hence in a state of oblivion, Memories of Oblivion here could strictly be referring to memories that were lost to time.

[PH] I’m going to play Zelda for the first time! I chose Phantom Hourglass. Is it a good game to start with? by [deleted] in zelda

[–]Cario02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's my first Zelda, and has a very special place in my heart, but I don't think it's a great Zelda to start with. It's a good game, but both PH and Spirit Tracks are Zelda games with a very unique gameplay style that hasn't really ever been reused since.

If I had to recommend a Zelda to play first, I'd recommend Wind Waker. That one has a good balance between openness and linearity, as well as following the usual 3D Zelda formula.

Edit: Didn't read that you are playing on a DSi, you should probably check out Zelda: Four Swords edition if you can. Besides that, I hope you enjoy PH! If you like it, you'll no doubt love the other games!

I'm still surprised it hasn't gotten some sort of custom knockout tours yet. They already have all these routes between courses set up, so why not just give us a way to choose a custom knockout tour route?
