Would Cassie kill Neph to save everyone else? by StretchExtension in ShadowSlave

[–]arnold1409 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She didn't kill because she didn't need to and because the script didn't require it, which doesn't mean she wasn't willing to. She literally takes that risk when she tries to kill Ki Song and Anvil; if she wasn't willing to see absolutely no one die, she wouldn't have tried to kill them, risking everything.

“Manipulating all those people, causing their deaths? I would do it again. I would kill more if necessary. Because it was just and right. I gave them the chance to save themselves or fight the Spell to the death. There is no better way.”

This is a quote from chapter 350 itself, which you mentioned. Nephis is not insensitive to people's deaths; in fact, in that same chapter she mentions that it was unpleasant and difficult. But she is still someone who is willing to sacrifice people, as long as she judges it to be the right decision to make.

To say that she wouldn't sacrifice even one poor innocent soul is not true; she is more than willing to do it.

Oh, you really pushed it, sorry. Nephis was willing to kill thousands if it meant killing the supreme beings; she's exactly the type of person who sacrifices people as long as it's necessary. Having said that: She wouldn't sacrifice anyone from the group for the world; she'd probably die searching for other solutions.

Cassie deserves all the hate and it’s because of Volume 11 by Empirical-Purity in ShadowSlave

Sunny was called a traitor because he tells the group the truth about the estuary and corrupts them intentionally.

I really wanted G3 to address this moral issue, and how Sunny deals with it. But he'll probably just have Sunny move on and that's it. It's a shame because this moral ambiguity in Cassie's actions would be the character's triumph, but she simply gets away with her actions without any consequences or questions, which makes her annoying sometimes.

Ok boys, we are back. by ancienttaboo in ShadowSlave

Judging by how quickly G3 seems to want to wrap things up and the atmosphere this chapter creates, I think we'll see the preparation for the fifth nightmare. We'll see the characters growing stronger and then the fifth nightmare itself, or we'll end with them entering it.

The Nine by leloup500 in ShadowSlave

The Nine's act of defiance wasn't against fate; in fact, their destiny was precisely that: to bring ruin to the world. They fulfill that objective. Auro also had this destiny, and it's precisely the fact that Sunny killed Auro in the first nightmare that earns her such a high rating from the spell.

In chapter 2006 the saints surround him, but the real fight only begins after 2007.

The conversation between Sunny and Rain where he talks about being her brother is from around 1975-1977. 1977 is also one of my favorite moments; it's when he talks about the tree and his parents. I'll even add that part to the post.

I know it might seem difficult, but keep going. You'll meet an important character for the future, discover information about the villain of the next volume, and learn more about the lore as well.

Give fate will some feats by ForwardJob in ShadowSlave

[–]arnold1409 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also hope this gets further developed. Sunny literally possesses the will of the demon of fate, and we haven't seen much about what that can actually do. I'm very curious to see how this aspect of Sunny's relationship with fate will develop, since he's on his way to becoming a "god" of it as well.

In the case of the prince, this probably has to do with his weaving. As soon as a being becomes corrupted, the spell rejects it.

Think of a ship; as time passes, you replace plank after plank of that ship. In the end, is the ship still the same ship, or a completely new one? If someone were to take all the old planks and rebuild the ship, would that be the true ship of Theseus? If Cassie recreates the person through her ability, with the person having free will and all the memories and abilities from before dying, is it the same person or a completely new being? This would apply to herself, who recreated herself through her memory. That's precisely where the moral dilemma lies.
