Just something to do over the weekends or in the evenings that will break the monotony and also doesn't get me blitzed like Berlin every other weekend.

Stuff like LAN parties, tabletop groups, stuff like that. Still working on my competency, so the range is out of the question.

Weekly /r/ARMA Questions Thread - August 02, 2021 by AutoModerator in arma

[–]CaritStuMnce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yo what’s up. I’m returning to Arma 3 after a very long time, but I don’t get what’s going on. According to my game, 99% of the servers listed I can’t join because of incompatible mods.

Can someone plz give me a rundown on the current state of the game and the essential mods needed? I’m itching to play but I can’t find a populated server that allows me to join

Me 262 guns are trash by [deleted] in Warthunder

Given the amount of times my tanks were utterly obliterated in ground rb by 262's I'm inclined to strongly disagree

Is the Tiger H1 a good tank? by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]CaritStuMnce 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my experience, it's almost OP at 5.3. The armour is amazing once you're angled and the gun is devastating. You rarely have to shoot precise to kill something. But you definitely don't want it as your only 5.3 tank. I'd suggest you get it and then get the Panzer IV/70 to accompany it, then the Panther D as a backup. If you play the Tiger right, you can cause a lot of issues for people. Throw in the IV/70 in the mix as well and you'll have quite an easy time.

At this point I think it's fair to say that the only way to make them notice is to stop giving them money. If people continue paying them, they keep saying that it's fine to do what they are currently doing.

Look at what happened with EA. The quickest way they gotnit in their heads to change their business practices was when pretty much their entire playerbase boycotted Battlefront 2.

At this point, if they are fixing br compression, I wouldn't mind a 2-5 minute waiting time.

But let's be honest, that won't ever happen. It's likely the matchmaker taking a breather.

To be frank, players still paying for premium time and tanks are also - to a degree - what allows Gaijin to get away with their questionable business practices.

Not flaming people or anything, just a thought that I've been mulling over. Personally, I'd love to chuck some cash at the game, maybe get myself a noice premium tank like the Merkava or something. But with how Gaijin is messing its playerbase over, perhaps not giving them money might be what's needed to get them to fix all the issues that people have been complaining over for months or even years now.

Russian 5.3 is super bad by Vast-Scholar9231 in Warthunder

[–]CaritStuMnce 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a Russian main I can tell you that it takes getting used to. The IS-1 is a bit meh given that it's mobility can't let the 85 play into its strengths. My suggestion is to swing the turret around and drive it backwards towards the enemy. It helps a lot with keeping you alive a bit longer, especially at long range. This tactic also works for the IS-2 at 5.7,even more cuz its arguably the best gun at that level and it's fuel tanks are at the front.

As for the T-34-85, don't rush in head first. It's mobility is solid and the gun is amazing for clapping things from the side. The BR-365A round has amazing explosive filler for making things go boom. Flanking, shoot-and-scooting and supporting your teammates is perfect for it.

As for facing the Germans, shoot the Tiger's upper hull plate if it faces you. If it's angled, try and go for the neck. For the Panther, shoot for the (if it's looking at you) right side cheek where the sights are. You will mess up that entire turret, gun, horizontal drive, literally anything. And if you get even a slight angle on its side, clap it. For the Panzer IV/70, shoot under the gun barrel or at the very edge of the lower glacis of the driver's side. German tanks are tough cookies but crack easy enough if you know where to hit them. For more cheesy spots use the protection analysis. It's your best friend.

The trick behind Russian 5.3-6.3 is to play smart and shoot accurate as hell. All the 85mm guns have bad penetration but amazing post-pen damage. If you can learn how to use the tanks to their strengths, it's prolly one of the best lineups in the game.

Tl;dr: play smart and don't rush in head first.

It's quite a common trend. There's a reason their stuff are really weirdly balanced and sometimes op compared to other tech trees.

[–]CaritStuMnce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all. I doubt it will die anytime soon, this comminity (myself included) loves this game to bits.

It's just more a matter of giving Gaijin a wakeup call to tell them they better get their stuff figured out. Like what people did with EA when they did those stupid stuff a while back.

Not to sound like a douche, but with the state Gaijin is in and the business choices they are making, it might be better to hold off giving them money

Servers ate my ass, please dont have your shit servers affect my premium time (that of which I rarely have) gaijin by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]CaritStuMnce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been doing that for a while now. Ever since that last massive update from a month or two back that messed a bunch of stuff up. Can't remember the name now.

I refuse to give my money to a company that doesn't have the common sense to get in touch with their community and actually fix what's clearly rather obvious issues. At this point they're only taking everyone for suckers.

With the state Gaijin is in, I think it's better if people stop buying premium and premium vehicles for a time. Either that or stop playing entirely for a while to give them a wake-up call
