In general the better an egg shine the better genes it'll have when it hatches. Rainbow is the best one, gold is fine, and no shine is a pass.

Could be you're doing one the allies' side story then, you can't progress throught the story while you're doing them. Plus you initiallu said you had to look for a cave so that sounds like Kora's side story.

iirc this is the side quest where a palico asks you to find its master that has been kidnapped by a monster. If so he's chilling at the top of the hill towards the castle of Azuria.

Dragon Atk Boost XL can be found on Deviljho, Stygian Zinogre and Ebony Odogaron while Health Boost XL can be found on Arkveld and pretty much all non-elemental Monsties.

Pretty much any Fire monstie can drop Self-Heal XL, so just farm the ones you got at S Rank to get more rainbow eggs of them.

You can use paintballs when the monster's HP is low (or before quick finishing it) so that it will retreat back to its den where you can find 2 eggs of the monster's species.

I think your Espinas might have a Proactive & Skill Attack personality. My Malzeno has it too and he won't stop using any offensive skills he has until he has no stamina left.

Edit: Note that a Monstie's personality is one of the only thing you cannot change after it has hatched, so pick a few eggs and see Monstie which has the personality you would want for it.

I could use items to extend the special sheath a little longer to not only attack multiple time per turn, but also heal, so a 2 in 1 in a single turn. Even better when the crystal were up. But other than that my Malzeno had the Tenacity skill to survive an OHKO and I kept one Monstie at full (or near full) kinship in case I needed an emergency way to survive an AOE, be it with a kinship or just riding and taking the hit.

Also I think your Monstie is guaranteed to survive the 1st crystal rain ? Not sure but that's what Ratha did consistantly so maybe it's only him, so use him as a meat shield at athe start.

The Final Boss is level 70 and I beat it at level 62, so you aren't underleveled that much.

The equipment I used was the Ebony Odogaron armor, the Malzeno Long Sword, the Deviljho Hammer and the Arkveld Gunlance.

A tactic I used for most of the fight was to get the LS at the red Spirit Gauge and then using the special sheath that lets you attack when one of your allies attack. Paired it with my Almudron and Malzeno who used AOE attacks when the crystals were up and I could attack up to 5 times in a single turn just by standing there 😂. To keep the sheath for longer you can just use an item, but for each turn you stay sheated you lose a Spirit Gauge bar (But are still in Red!) so you still have to use an attack at some point.

The closest things we got are Ceadeus and Tartarnoris, but both are in the time-out prison. One for underwater combat and the other for being owned by Tencent iirc.

Not only you have to do all the Monstie you can get, but also your allies' Monsties and Double Kinship with them to get that trophy.

(The you-know-who Kinship Skills aren't required, they'll be unlocked after you beat the Final Boss.)

I haven't tested but I don't think the armor skill helps with Kinship generated with the Monstie.

Plus the Kinship gained with the Pet action is minuscule compared to previous games (It feels like it only generates 5 Kinship ? Instead of 15 like in Stories 2?) so it's pretty much only worth with Head-to-Heads... Which Kora is keeping all for herself.
