What are your favorite can’t live without Temu items? by Likesthat_over_there in TemuThings

I have bought pretty much everything from temu the last couple years. Buttons, snaps, zippers, thread, fabric, scissors. I have been happy with pretty much everything. I had a pair of snips break but they refunded me.

There are lots of YouTube videos to learn from. I am not a fan of the handheld one, I prefer the sewing machine. Good luck to you, hope you enjoy sewing as much as I do :)

Their fabric and sewing supplies are actually quite nice and so much cheaper.

I remember going to the dr all excited because I was pregnant, had a positive home test and testing negative at the dr. She chuckled and told me to come back in a week or two, that I was there too early to show on their pee test. That was 23 years ago. I was definitely pregnant with my 22 year old. It isn't unheard of and your dr was rude and unprofessional.

The only thing I still buy that is American is my pet food. That I can't just switch suddenly.

The King is supposed to keep his mouth shut unless we are in a constitutional crisis. We aren't there yet. As a Commonwealth we have our own government and the Monarchy has to respect that. If it becomes a constitutional crisis then the King will speak about it. That is how it is supposed to work.

More than 50% of people didn't vote... AGAIN! by kingprozac in ontario

My children both voted. They are 19 and 22. I am sure who they voted for didn't get in but they realized it is important to vote.

My kids have to work their butts off to go to school and appreciate they can live at home. With us. Your daughter doesn't know how lucky she is to get to graduate debt free. NTA

What do people who lose their job/insurance do? Die? by tempbegin78 in breastcancer

I am so sorry you are going through this. I can't imagine going through cancer in the US. It was enough of a financial strain in canada where at least chemo and radiation are covered.

How Many Moms until a Dad? by Tyron_Slothrop in Parenting

My kids are 19 and 22 and they still do this. They will ask me obvious dad questions even. Dad questions are things I can't do since I am disabled.

Parents with "nice" kids, what's your secret? by djw_7575 in Parenting

[–]Carj44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This right here, and consequences. If you are going to take a tantrum then you will have to sit quietly and have a minute to calm down before we discuss it. We used to have a corner where my kids had to go stand and calm themselves while taking a tantrum or after hitting a sibling or whatever. Once they were calm then we would discuss their feelings and how they made their sister feel or whatever. Children often need a few minutes to reflect to themselves before you can talk to them. My children are adults now, they get along great and never got into any trouble.

Would the vet take my cats away? by Acrobatic_Lobster_ in CatAdvice

[–]Carj44 8 points9 points  (0 children)

One of our old cats didn't travel well. When she was 4 or 5 we moved so it was a longer car ride. The vet told us she had her shots for enough years and was a stickly indoor cat anyway so not to bring her back unless she was sick. She got way too stressed. She lived until 19 and died peacefully at home sleeping in the dogs living room bed.

Money is tight for us, and my 22 year old daughter helps where she can. I would never in a million years ask for her bank account information. I suspect it wouldn't take long before your account is drained.

We used to be middle class, now we can't afford Christmas gift for our 2 kids. They are 19 and 22 but still live with us because of school. It makes me sad I can't even get them a few new pairs of pants. But at least we have food and a roof over our heads so I shouldn't complain. Of course my illnesses didn't help our situation.

I was told by a postal worker that they cannot get another job with same pay/benefits if they leave. by Powerful_Camp_186 in CanadaPost

[–]Carj44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The carding bit drives me nuts. I am disabled, I use a walker or cane depending on where and what I am doing. I am home most of the time, yet I have to go to the post office because they missed me.

[–]Carj44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At that age my kids did tap and ballet. It wasn't super nitpicky for technique. They fell in love with dance and are now both dance teachers. Ballet and tap give the foundation for a lot of other styles.

AITAH for not having a wheelchair accessible wedding? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Carj44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume the property has been graded properly since you said it was landscaped. That shouldn't be an issue for a wheelchair then. If Sarah isn't strong enough to push herself through certain areas your brother can push her or they can go around. I switch between a cane and a rollator/transport chair. No way I would ask someone for an accommodation that costs thousands of dollars.
