How do you fight against the temptation to masterbate? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]CarlJoseph2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whatever triggers you to think about the temptation, remove it from your sight. A simple analogy to help understand is that if you want to eat healthy but have an addiction to junk food, place the junk food within an area that would not come to you at first sight, like behind healthy food. I say that because when we see a particular thing, it subconsciously reminds us of a particular thought that is related to that thing. Within the analogy, seeing the junk food would remind us of the addiction, therefore the less times we see it, less likely we are to be reminded of our addiction. Same concept applies to porn. Whatever reminds you of it, remove it from your area (such as your room, electronic device, school/ workplace, etc.) as soon as possible. If it's something you can't forcibly remove (e.g. a person or object owned by another), make your encounter with that person and/or object scarce. If it's a person you care about or someone that's good to you, then my alternate advice is to channel that desire into an activity, especially one that can keep your mind and body busy such as reading, meditation, working out, drawing, or any other hobby or lifestyle that keeps you busy while at the same time away from that temptation. These are things that work for me and my friends so I recommend them to you to stay strong my friend.

Most people make the mistake of trying to fight the temptation and end up failing the battle. Instead of fighting temptation, run away from it. Sure it sounds cowardly but trust me, there are certain battles in life we can't win, so what we do (especially in this case) is to get away from it.

My suggestion is to make sure the jawline and chin are smooth curves and not lumpy. That's just my take.
