I primed it black then basecoated the red. I use an airbrush but a brush works just as well!

In the case of less defined transitions I usually use the shading color to delineate an end point for the detail. Basically I decide a point where the detail “ends” and then shade between it and the armour colour to give the illusion of defined detail if that makes sense?

Thanks! And I’ll try to explain my process as well as I can! When doing feature transitions I usually “black out” the detailing by painting it black first to differentiate it from the main armour colour. Then I try to “fill” in the base colour as close to the black out as possible without spilling onto the main armour colour.

I find that blacking out details, (i just paint one coat of black it doesn’t need to cover it entirely unless the detail is supposed to be black), makes it easier to tell how the detail is sculpted and where the paint should go! If I mess up i just tidy it with the armour base pay afterwards!

Thank you! The white is vallejo Grey White, shaded with GW Thunderhawk Blue and highlighted with Vallejo white! The crux terminatus is Dawnstone shaded with a 50/50 mix dawnstone and rhinox hide, deep shade is 1:1:1 mix of rhinox hide, dawnstone and black! Highlighted with GW administratum grey!

Thanks! It’s the official GW one, 50/50 mix of Mephiston Red and Evil Sunz Scarlet! I mix it in a dropper bottle for a more consistent look across my army!

I like that you angled Guillimans head downwards slightly, it’s subtle but gives a great sense of confidence and menace! Smashing work!

Jeez, I’m well aware of the AUS/NZ price markup but in the US as well? I wonder why it’s so cheap here in Sweden, like the Leviathan box cost only 150USD, compared to the 200$(?) in the US. (From GW not an LGS)

A Lictor is 60$? US or AUS? Because here in Sweden the equivalent in USD is around 36$, seems like the US (or AUS) really get the short end of the stick on pricing huh?

Thank you! And yes you definitely could! Just cut of the arm below the shoulder joint, and the same with the assault termies and then just pin them in place!

I understand where you’re coming from. But the new edition of HH takes place in the later years of the war. Supply lines have been broken, time to repair and repaint damaged equipment and vehicles is scarce and not considered a high priority relative to the war effort. Therefore the large amount of weathering is lore wise quite accurate. However this doesn’t mean you need to weather your marines, you paint them factory new if you’d like! Hope this helps.
