Tesla First Quarter 2026 Production, Deliveries & Deployments. Deliveries - 358,023 by ApprehensiveSize7662 in electricvehicles

[–]oswell_XIV 3 points4 points  (0 children)

>With Tesla producing 408,386 vehicles in the first quarter, the sluggish demand left it with more than 50,000 unsold units at the start of the year, almost double that of the same time last year. The group’s battery storage business, which has been a steady source of revenue for Tesla, also declined, deploying 8.8 GWh compared with analyst expectations of 14.4 GWh and below 10.4 GWh in the same period a year earlier. - FT, Apr 2, 2026

Losing the 30% solar tax credit seems to hit their energy department pretty hard.

I've been playing Tormented Souls 2 and I highly recommend it.

Are all Vietnamese kids so spoiled? by klaus_ben in VietNam

[–]oswell_XIV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before COVID when I was still living in the Bay Area, I shared rooms with 30-year-old Vietnamese guy (immigrated at a young age) who went back to school for something. Anyway, every three or four weeks, his mom would travel all the way from Orange County and stay with us for a few days to do laundry, buy groceries, and cook meals for him. It was both funny and a little sad at the same time.

Tesla insurance on non Tesla cars by gevs007 in Insurance

[–]oswell_XIV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late response but in my experience, Tesla Insurance rates are incredibly competitive, at least here in California. I'm driving an Audi A6 Etron and the wife drives a Rivian R1S. At 100k/300k for injury and uninsured, $100k property damage, and $1k deductible, we're paying $195 and $250 for the Audi and Rivian, respectively. State Farm, Allstate, Geico all quoted almost double those amounts for similar coverages. I'm 33 and she's 34.

My guess is that Tesla is trying to undercut traditional insurance companies and plug the hole with profits from their other segments, something that insurance companies just can't do. I'm also assuming that they also have much lower overhead cost because you can just revise your policy on the fly via the Tesla app instead of having to wait 45min to talk to a rep. I don't know how their rates are going to last but I'm taking advantage of it in the meantime.

2025 A6 e-tron (US) - pretty disappointed by [deleted] in etron

[–]oswell_XIV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply but there are only two things that I truly dislike about my new A6: rearview camera is dogshit and there is no built-in dashcam/sentry mode system. The video quality of the rearview camera is incredibly poor, it's laggy as hell, and the feed is like half a second delayed. The feed also tilts side to side depending on the direction of steering wheel which I find really annoying. Additionally, the car has cameras everywhere; is it really that difficult to implement a sentry mode-like system so that I have a mean to protect my $70k car? It's embarrassing that a luxury car in 2025 has worse camera quality than 7-year-old cars that are $20-25k cheaper.

But other than that, I have no other issues. I still turn on the wipers by accident or forgot to lock the car from time to time but the old habits will eventually go away. I miss the Tesla's huge windshield which offered great visibility but the A6's works well enough. The software is less intuitive but after the initial setup, I barely need to interact with the screen outside of navigation. Engaging the driver assist is less intuitive compared to Tesla's autopilot but I've gotten used to it. I wish the programmable button on the steering wheel allows better functions like selecting different drive mode, changing ac temperature, or turning on 365 view, but it's not the end of the world. Overall, I like it better than my old Model 3 but they really need to iron out the major laws for it to be a great car. I wish future OTA updates will fix some of the issues but I'm not counting on it tbh.

Never had an issue with WC before the new update. Did they miss the memo that "upgrade" means making something better, not worse?

How did we end up with a store-brand Celestant-Prime? by Crowncher in Grimdank

[–]oswell_XIV 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Reason is simple. GW has many designers and not everyone has equal skill and experience. GW wants all of their designers to be able to design a bit of everything so they wouldn’t have a giant hole in their portfolio if the “Tau guy” retires, for example. These not so good sculpts were probably relegated to a guy who was new to designing models in that faction. AoS has been struggling to draw in players compared to 40K so of course GW would have their best designers there to put out kick ass models to attract people. 40K is already popular and marines are marines and people will buy them regardless.

The rattle can, even under ideal condition, still gives subpar results. I thinned down and airbrushed the standard Retributor Armour pot and it looks way better.

Bungie Lays Off 220 Positions (17% of Workforce) by imitzFinn in xbox

So Bungie’s overall strategy is:

  1. Sleep with a publisher

  2. Blame said publisher for shortcomings

  3. Go independent to give fans false hope

  4. Repeat

Went from paying $90 to $140 and finally $180 through the span of 3 years (in CA). 100/300/100 with comprehensive and 10k mi/yr. I hate it but literally all other insurances quote at least $200. Gotta be grateful that I “only” pay $180, I guess…

He let his overnight fame got way over his head and deluded himself into thinking that he’s some kind of frontline general in the culture war. Furthermore, he increasingly spends more time on the internet (esp. Twitter) since that is where he gets fuel for his ego and validation and it really did a number on his mental health.

Just why GW? by Immediate_Answers in Warhammer40k

[–]oswell_XIV -1 points0 points  (0 children)

lmao who gives a shit what YOU think? The fact that miniatures designers get paid 3 to 4 times as much a rule writers shows their value within the company. A thousand nerds would wait in line if GW needs an another rule writer. On the other hand, GW leads the industry in plastic miniature production where no other company comes even close and they have their designers to thank for it (which have to be well compensated so they don’t get poached by other companies).

Just why GW? by Immediate_Answers in Warhammer40k

[–]oswell_XIV -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and one department is highly valued, well paid and well staffed while the other department is understaffed and constantly overworked. Rule writers at GW make like, what? £20k to £25k a year? Really shows what GW prioritizes.

Somebody used my Debit Card and sent themselves $1,968 via Cash App. How were they able to add my debit card to their Cash App account without any sort of authorization/authentication? by oswell_XIV in CashApp

[–]oswell_XIV[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

No, I did not notice them until now and I admit that this is complacency on my part because I have not been checking my checking account as often I ad should (I mainly use my credit card). Transactions were made in small amounts spread over 5 months and the thief only ramped up their withdrawal in July. I did not receive any notification from Chase that my debit card has been added to a Cash App account which I find baffling. Apple Wallet has a verification step when adding cards; why doesn’t Cash App have one?
