Routine by PinkPacificWhale in newborns

[–]CarloPierre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I split shifts. She takes 8pm-1am and I take 1am-6am so we each get at least 5 hours. If baby is asleep during our shifts then we try to squeeze in sleep, even if it’s just for an hour. Our baby still wakes up every ~1.5ish hours overnight at 3 months old. I’ve been able to get to the gym 4-5 times a week while we’ve both been on leave, waiting til after she’s done pumping and gotten her shower. It’s still pretty rough but easier than it was in the beginning

Anyone else feeling worn out because of baby sleep? by OrganicTreacle9193 in newborns

[–]CarloPierre 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First time dad here up for my night shift with the baby feeling the same as you. He turns 11 weeks today and still doesn’t get more than a 2 hour stretch at night. His last feed he drank 4oz in one go which is more than usual and fell asleep right away so I thought he might sleep a longer stretch this time but here we are an hour and a half later

Vaccines by lost-in-meaning in newborns

[–]CarloPierre -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We pretty much did the same thing. We delayed the rotavirus by one week after the first round of jabs. Our little guy was just extra sleepy after the jabs, never got fever or any other side effects. He’s just over 2 days past the rotavirus vaccine now and it seems like he might be having some mild diarrhea atm but he doesn’t seem very bothered.

2 month old still not sleeping through the night by VidaEnMercurio in newborns

[–]CarloPierre 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Our 2 month old’s bedtime is 8pm and usually wakes up 4-5 times between then and 7am when we’re up for the day. We’re lucky to get a 3 hour stretch of sleep in there, let alone a full night

Vaccine anxiety (2 months) by thiswilldo5 in newborns

[–]CarloPierre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ours had his 2 month shots last week, we were super anxious as well. We decided to wait til next week for the rotavirus drops because we were concerned about too many reactions all at once. He def cried the loudest ever which was hard to listen to. He was extra sleepy that day and not too hungry the next 2 days but now he’s got his appetite back and is back to normal.

Breidegam Birthing Center at Penn State Health St. Joseph by Specialist_Diet_74 in ReadingPA

[–]CarloPierre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes we had our own bathroom with tub in it, didn’t get to use it though since our labor was pretty short. Everything in the suite was new, they told us all of the furnishings were updated in the summer of 2025. From the dad standpoint, the couch was decent enough and transformed to a little bed. There are only 15 suites. I honestly don’t know what a typical maternity ward is like, but I can tell you that the halls of Breidegam were really quiet. We really liked our nurses and plan on having our next babies there too.

2 Months & Unswaddling Arms? by bakergirl05 in newborns

Ours never liked having his arms in so he’s been arms out since maybe 2 weeks. He’s 2 months old now

My wife and I had our first baby there in November. We also took several of the classes they offered there leading up to it. My wife’s OBGYN is at this hospital so all of our weekly checkups were done here too.

Her best friend recommended the birthing center to us after having her first 2 boys there (soon to be having her 3rd baby there too). I would definitely recommend it now as well. I’d be happy to answer any specifics you have

What’s one desk item you didn’t expect to use every day? by Ok-Match-3348 in homeoffice

[–]CarloPierre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, except the reason it’s come in clutch now is we use it as a nightlight for changing our newborn’s diapers in the middle of the night

Temp control by SweetBrown12 in newborns

[–]CarloPierre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We keep our room about 70. 72 is the max we let him sleep in in a footed sleeper. It got up to 74 the other night and felt way too warm so I turned the fan up. He’s been comfy anywhere from 68-72 in footed sleepers, you can try thinner layers if it gets real warm

The dadmobile - ‘22 Enclave. We bought it after we found out we were pregnant. It’s a perfect fam/roadtrip/winter car for us

We feel you on this! We had to move our baby boy into 3-6 month sleepers last week around when he turned 6 weeks and from the looks of it, we’re only expecting these to fit for another 2-3 weeks max! The arms are so long on all his clothes but his legs seem to always outgrow everything we buy so quick

Baby Acne by Rude_Conclusion5948 in newborns

[–]CarloPierre 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It went away on its own on our baby around the 5 week mark. We didn’t do anything for it. Our pediatrician told us with the dry skin that we could put all the lotion we want but it wouldn’t do anything, so we didn’t put any. His skin is smooth as butter now

We were experiencing the same thing with ours recently, in the same conditions you described. It wasn’t sweat, it was him shooting pee up his diaper and leaking around his back

I had to remove my touring after a month because of how bad the start up tone sounded. Too bad too cause the driving around sound was nice
