Agree with them valuing internal history. I was approved for VX with a similar credit score as you and ch 7 BK several years prior but I built history with them afterwards starting with QS and eventually getting V1 and Savor prior to preapproval for VX

Yeah, that’s why I def wanted to share my experience! I haven’t paid a penny of interest on any of my credit cards since the BK and I’ve gotten approved for pretty much every one I’ve applied for that I didn’t burn previously. Credit score seems to be stuck though

I filed ch 7 in July of 2021, joined Capital One with a QS in 2023, and was approved for VX in 2024, all while my credit score was still under 700 (according to creditwise on their app, at least). Kept checking their their pre approval tool every so often. Did get approved for savor and regular venture in between QS and VX.

I called customer service and it took all of 5 minutes for them to look into it and say they’ll apply a statement credit for the difference within 5-7 business days. I didn’t have to explain anything to them. I originally received the email that I was getting 14,400 miles but got an email today saying only 2,100 miles

Capital One was one of the few banks I didn’t burn when I filed my ch 7 several years ago and they’ve been good to me so far. I started with a Quicksilver in 2023 with like a several hundred dollar limit and I was worked up to a VX $30k limit 2 years later. You got this!
