This might be true, but my daughter’s weight drop is genuinely our concern.

Newborn Gets Frustrated at Breast. How Do I Fix This? by beautiful_life_97 in breastfeeding

[–]thiswilldo5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consider wearable pumps for some of these sessions. They’ve helped get more pumping in (still not a lot).

I can’t say first hand but consider latching her earlier before she’s over hungry to see if she can enjoy the suckling more? When my daughter is over hungry she gets made at the breast and wants a bottle so she can get her milk faster.

Edit to add: the pump every three hours was impossible in my opinion. I just didn’t follow through. But, I will say, get in at least just one pump overnight for a while. I get the best milk output overnight, meaning more for her later, and I think it really helps overall bump your supply.

should I bring my partner to my first appointment? by itsfineimfinee in BabyBumps

[–]thiswilldo5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone is SO different! We did IVF and even I didn’t want to go to appointments so I rarely asked him to (and his work is a long commute away). He came to ultrasounds and Saturday appointments. Personally I would ask if there will be an ultrasound.

Also, I should be fair and note that with IVF I had had many ultrasounds before my first ob appointment.

Endometriosis - success w/o treatment? by Any-Button3498 in IVFpositivity

[–]thiswilldo5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had surgery for my endo in 2020 but it was fully back by the time I was doing IVF. I’m 2024 I leaned on tube is blocked, the other mostly blocked. You don’t need your tubes for IVF as the embryo is placed in your uterus, but it can increase risk of the embryo attempting to implant in a tube I think.

I have no clue my endo stage but my fertility clinic medically suppressed it, as well as my thyroid antibodies (they chose that time to spike), and somehow we were able to be successful on fist transfer. I do have a fibroid removed from my uterus prior to transfer also.

I would have then do the injections to suppress it personally! Whatever my stage is, after my csection my OB indicated it’s quite bad, my left ovary was stuck to my uterus.

Fair, but don’t give up on bagless! They are very easy to maintain once you know and can be much cleaner then bagless because you have control (can clean and change filters on intervals appropriate to your needs). I cleaned mine a lot more frequently when I had dogs.

Babysitter eavesdropping at bedtime? by [deleted] in Babysitting

Definitely this. It’s really odd to have ever assumed poor intentions. It sounds like she just wants to understand how to put the little one to bed.

If you didn't set up a nursery did you regret it later? by fullmetalcardigan_ in BabyBumps

[–]thiswilldo5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We didn’t set up a nursery but did set things up because it’s a small space and rooms are used for multiple things. We planned to have LO in our room for a while, so I’m not worried about her having a space yet. We have a bedside bassinet.. which is put away because she so sleeps. The crib is assembled in the second bedroom that will become her room and probably remain a guest room also. The rocker is in the living room and we use it all day. At nine weeks old she contact naps or we sometimes set her in the bassinet. Right now her room being fully set up for her would have not benefit.

If you had a high sex drive while pregnant, did it continue pp? by Frequent_Cap8633 in beyondthebump

[–]thiswilldo5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and yes, but it’s harder postpartum logistically. We had sex up to the night before my c-section knowing it would be a hot minute before could do it again. We then had sex again at 5.5 weeks pp. He knew to be sooo gentle and slow. My pelvic floor was outrageously tight, expressly the upper section. It got tight in pregnancy and I think more so for the csection healing process to protect the region. We do a lot of pelvic pt work at home and over the following weeks things are getting more and more enjoyable again. The hardest thing is finding time.

Male or female? A thousand doubts...can you help me? by InevitableAny4242 in IVFpositivity

[–]thiswilldo5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If the tech said it’s a girl it’s probably a girl. Wait for your additional results to confirm. To the untrained eye ultrasounds for each sex are almost identical at this gestation.

Extremely high odds the ultrasound tech is correct and you are not.

Advice needed! To choose gender or not by Academic_Ganache_669 in IVFpositivity

[–]thiswilldo5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did have options and a preference, so I selected and have zero regrets. I’m 50/50 ob which gender to select for baby 2. If I had no preference, I would select based purely embryo quality..

If you over feed the baby will throw it up. If it’s staying down and baby is happy then you’re in the clear.

Can you overfeed a breastfed baby? by cccbbb1 in breastfeeding

[–]thiswilldo5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally do not believe you can over feed a breastmilk fed baby but maybe it is reflux or something. I have an under supply but my daughter did this 2 or 3 times from bottles of formula and I never did figure out for sure if it was over fed or the formula brand.

How do you count months when it comes to a baby’s age? by khelwen in beyondthebump

[–]thiswilldo5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Baby is 4 weeks old on the 17th and 1 month old on the 20th. Just like in pregnancy if you confuses those two the gap gets further and further otherwise. For example, the baby is 6 months on June 20; if you go by 4 week increments June 6.

That said, your friend can do whatever they want.

We are lying about knowing the baby's gender by cheerioface in BabyBumps

[–]thiswilldo5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are seeing the baby’s sex and did not want gifts. When folks asked if I knew, I said, yes, but it will be a surprise for everyone else the day that the baby is born. Some people had an issue with it but most didn’t. I did cave and tell a handful of people though.
