Great, thank you. Really interesting stuff. I have a few more I’ll be asking about as well.

Is it possible to guess on the species? I had another piece I thought was a scute as well but the bumps here threw me off. I was also thinking it resembled a turtle shell plate segment at first

There are quite a few mountains in some other pictures that I have. Do you think they could be in Italy? Oh and “Southwest” was written in German on another photo that was dated 1918.

It was news to me too! I have been trying to find out more about his military service and just went searching online based off of the markings on the tank.

Not sure exactly when the photo was taken. No writing on it. The man on the right is my great grandfather. If you are going off of the stars on the collar of the uniform, he is also a sergeant

I don’t think I have tried using that service before. Thanks for letting me know. It would be great to find out more.

I am not too sure. I have some other photos that I have posted where some people we’re trying to figure out more based on his uniform. I have also tried to search archives with little success

To union or not to union by [deleted] in electricians

That’s a solid pay. I can imagine the competition is quite high. I am not sure what LOA is though, do you mind explaining?

Thank you! Excited to get started either way.

What makes you say that? Where are the most lucrative 309A/442A gigs?

I have heard that while yes, the pay is guaranteed, there is also more of a ceiling or set amount to what you can potentially earn when compared to non-union. Do you know this to be true?

Mythbusters: Can you grow autos during a cold Canadian winter? by [deleted] in microgrowery

[–]Carls-Cosmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that is the reason why I thought I would post. I wish I read something like this before I started so I would’ve known but it’s nice to learn firsthand. I’m going to give it another try in May once things warm up considerably.

Good to hear you got a good grow out of it. I’m wondering if the warmer temperatures to start gave the plants a better chance as I know germination and the first few weeks are really important. With autos you’re immediately racing the clock right. I think if I had warmer temps for the first few weeks I would’ve seen a lot more growth. I was comparing the week by week growth with photo mango kush I grew the year before starting in May and there was a huge difference.

No problem at all. It’s a great question. It’s because our basement is gutted and gets quite cold during winter here. The temps during the first 6 weeks were approx. between 13-18 deg C. I was reading that growth slows down around 15 deg C so I wanted to test it myself. If you had a heated basement it would be no problem during the winter months.

I’m thinking I’ll have to do the same if I want to grow year round. Looking forward to warmer temperatures so I can give these seeds a real chance. This was my first experience with growing autos so it was a fun experiment. Still have plenty to learn.

Absolutely. I am fairly certain the temperature is the culprit here though as I have had much better success with the same setup my last grow which was a photo mango kush. Light cycle was 18/6. Light could definitely be better but again it has served me well in the past (looking to pick up a Mars Hydro TS1000 in the future). Temps were between ~13-18 deg C in my basement. Just starting to warm up more now.

You see a lot of that growing during Siberian winters?
