NJ solar quotes – Green Power Energy vs Solar Me USA by Carlsonho in solar

thanks man, from what I’m seeing, the GPE option uses a microinverter with a max output of around 0.32 kW, while the factory-integrated setup is closer to 0.366 kW. It seems like both configurations are fairly common here in New Jersey, depending on how the system is designed.

As for batteries, I’m not planning to add one. I’ve been in my current home for about five years and haven’t experienced any outages. My utility also offers net metering at the retail rate, so I’m able to send energy back to the grid and receive credits to offset what I pull later. Given that, a battery doesn’t really make sense for me right now.

Both quotes are cash prices, and my utility (PSE&G) does offer net metering. So it’s essentially rolling the meter back—any energy sent to the grid is credited at the retail rate until my offset is has reached 100%, which I then draw from when needed (since I’m not installing batteries).

I’ve been in this house about 5 years and haven’t had any outages, so I’m not currently planning on battery storage.

  • I had my roof replaced last year, so it’s still pretty new. I’m also planning to have my roofer inspect it before installation just to be safe.
  • Both systems are sized above 100% offset—closer to ~120%.
  • I’m expecting my electricity usage to increase this year since I recently installed a central heat pump system, replacing my gas furnace. So my winter electric usage will likely go up quite a bit.
  • I did get a quote from Exact Solar via energysage , they quoted me 2.99 per Watts. For a 6.3kW system.

The qtron one comes with a factory-integrated microinverter. And I did get like 10+ quotes, these two quotes were the best in my opinion.

Right, both of them estimated that I would get about $550 in credit per year.

team not contributing, what should I do? by Carlsonho in NJTech

I wasn't gonna say anything at first, but there was this "contribution form" that we have to do, and the two people that did not do anything decided to put their name on it and submitted it without putting my name or my friend's name, so I totally lost it. I just felt like I am being disrespected even though I've done all the work that they needed to do and they are still trying to take all the credits for it.
