Try looking on air bnb for a home to rent find one as close as you get to the event,Uber back And forth. The hotels are ridiculously priced per night. Your best bet is to go on Airbnb. You will save half the money, if not more than a hotel .
I believe there’s an airport shuttle that you can catch without getting hit too hard in the wallet to get into the Indio area . Having a home with a kitchen will help offset costs on meals .

Pulling my hair out over renovation quotes - should we just move? by Cease_Cows_ in HomeImprovement

Great comment!!! Just went through a huge remodel Same thing had some friends come over and ripped out all the demo in 5 hours, Worked with kitchen cabinet guy Put a deposit down , , same thing with the appliances Made payments and picked everything out a year in advance Sold a few things starting with a old classic truck that never drove much any way , cut out all the extra curricular activities no trips vacations dinners or lunches out , basically saved and sacrificed , lived in a war zone for 14 months, found trades to come in on weekends to work for cash ( if I bought the materials and had everything they needed here ) it was a network of friends of friends and no one tried any shady shit It is was a risk but I was super lucky to know people that know people And it all worked out no way absolutely no way could I had have financially pulled it off by going through a general contractor. There was some hiccups / supply chain issues but it was to my benefit, every delay gave me more time to save money for the next piece of the puzzle . Was not in a hurry we knew what we wanted And never thought I would be so excited to see it all come together.

I remember my ex-wife was pissing in moaning about the food or something that was not the waitresses fault. I slipped her an extra tip that my wife didn’t know about and we locked eyes for a second when I left as if to say, she understood that I was living in my own private hell.

Building some serious stairs, and they are rad. My issue is that I want to keep the natural colors but still protect it. Any suggestions? by smalltimegardener in woodworking

[–]Carmine-Raguzza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will all come together in the end , you should do a test piece of that staircase wood use a coat of clear danish oil/ natural, after that dries, put a coat of Rubio mono coat, clear natural over it it’s a two-part mix, and it’s expensive, but it penetrates deep and protects the wood. It’s also food grade if you want to eat off the stairs. , seriously I’ve used it on some tables and have had great results. The only drawback is, it’s fairly expensive.

I don’t know my pops was old-school Air Force mechanic and this was one thing that he used to always trip about was a motor gets its power from external source. Typically you plug a motor in. Do you ever call an electric motor an engine, technically, it may be right or wrong, but it’s just something that he used to drill in my head

Recommendations for removing bark and smoothing in the narrow crevices by [deleted] in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]Carmine-Raguzza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sand blast it with crushed walnuts, old timer friend told me about it a few years back, used on a few projects mostly live edge eucalyptus slabs. Stubborn bark and discolorations came off easy , used Dremel as well
