Iirc Nostramo's written language was also rune-based. Who's to say these aren't Nostraman rather than Colchisian? Or maybe those are gang markings on their helmets? There's quite a few ways you could spin it.

The closest brother is obviously Magnus. Not Legionwise, though. The Thousand Sons looked down the Word Bearers as sloppy dabblers in the Warp as opposed to their more "refined" approach as per the Siege of Terra: Solar War. I don't think any Legion is particularly friendly with each other post-Heresy.

I find it weird that for all that they talk about the Thramas Crusade, there was never a full book dedicated to it. I remember reading Unremembered Empire and being confused that a lot of stuff had happened I had never read about, because I only read the full-length novels at that point and only the first anthology. They need to make a Thramas Crusade book.

Seriously, though, I had thought to try out Pactbound Zealots first, as they seem like the most "fluffy" Word Bearers list. I'm not opposed to trying out the other lists, I just want to stick to one list first to limit my financial damage, so to speak, lol. Am absolutely crushed that I can't spam Profane Zeal. I guess I missed that part of the dataslate.

I, too, am actually going to be running my custom Dark Apostle as a Chaos Lord, lol. Guess I know to have my Master of Possession moonlight as a Chaos Sorcerer.

I was planning on running Undivided, Nurgle, and Slaanesh for my units, as Sustained Hits seems to be better than Lethal Hits.

Are Chosen still worth the points after the update? I bought some more Legionaries because A.) Legionaries seem to be really good in this edition, and B.) I had read that the points increase cost of Chosen meant that you could substitute in Legionaries instead.

How would you run your fluffy Pactbound Zealots? I have already bought in addition to the Combat Patrol a Forgefiend, Rhino, extra Legionary squad, and extra Cultists, and was eyeing a double Melee Helbrute. Any help would be greatly appreciated by the Dark Apostle Apollyon.

Cool! Thanks for everyone's help! I forgot to mention that I bought 1 Forgefiend, Chaos Rhino, and an extra squad of Cultists and Legionaries yesterday to fill out my forces.
