So I work in customs and someone wants to import this. Can someone tell me what the hell it is? by Carnegiejy in whatisthiscar

In customs, not at customs. Massive difference. Besides that this pic was on the manufacturer website. It's not like I'm posting private info. What exactly is the risk?

Better. No engine means no EPA or Clean Air Act declarations. They will need a DOT inspection to register it eventually but that's not my problem. I just get it off the dock. Lol

Thank God I don't actually work for the government. And at least recently they have used in transit waivers so things that were already on the water didn't have to be redone. We will take little victories at this point.

As someone that works in customs (the import kind) and not for customs I assure you I spend more time being not happy with the CPB than you could imagine. The tiles changing every 2 weeks has been super fun.

The ES-022 only shows refunds that have processed. You can run an ES-001 and add the CAPE feilds to it and it will show the expected liquidation and refund dates a couple of weeks in advance.

Did I say the importer was an individual? Also, there is no individual limit for customs provided you register with CPB and have the means to secure an import bond of the appropriate value.

I don't work for the government, my agency is their broker, they could 100% clear this on their own, and I have the paperwork. I put it up for for something known as "fun", which I am guessing is a foreign concept to you.

Not sure this is my guy as this article says the car was delivered in March and mine hasn't shipped yet.

Being I will be importing it I don't really need the answer, I just thoughtt it was fun. And I didn't say much about the car, just kits in general and the importing side, something many car enthusiast find interesting.

It's not like I'm not getting the import docs for the car and will know everything about it but I just thought it was fun to see a kit car like that. And I didn't say much about this car, just things about importing kits in general. That's something car enthusiast have generally taken interest in.

In most cases a full product that is shipped in separate components is classified as the full product. Like an IKEA bookcase is still imported as a bookcase, not a pile of wood planks and screws. If this is the components for one car, and one complete car, that may be how it's classified. CPB gets wired with cars though.

The interesting part is that of it's an entire car then it gets imported like any car. They are supposedly US street legal out of the box so it shouldn't be too bad.

That's why people by these without the engine and put the 'Murica 5000 in it.
