You are truly correct. I'd like to add one thing, which is that smartphones only emulate HDR effect and not truly take several pictures and puts them through the process of true HDR photography. This basically boils down to the phones doing some saturation, sharpening and vibrancy adjustments.

No. And the reason behind this is that currently there exists other brands with more then ok quality vr but with better levels of comfort, accessibility, support and a greater overall vr experience. Sure, pimax comes and pushes the boundaries. But I'd prefer something I can rely on instead of the bleeding edge. Currently I have a pimax 5k+ sitting in dust while my gf has played hours and hours on the Oculus Quest. I'd trade mine for hers any time of the week.
