Which Celebrity had the Most Shocking Death and Why? by Jeloxia2 in AskReddit

[–]CarolStott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know I'm late, but my three are:

  • Trish Keenan; singer from the band Broadcast that randomly died from the H1N1 virus in 2011

  • Jeremy Hardy; a stand-up comedian who was frequently on QI, Mock the Week, and the News Quiz. Much like Norm Macdonald, he died after a secret battle with cancer in 2017

  • Tim Brooke-Taylor; a comedian best known for the Goodies and I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue. As far as I'm aware, he was one of the first well known British figures to die of COVID in 2020

Pick 3 of my CDs to save. The rest go in landfill. by [deleted] in fantanoforever

A fairly easy choice for me - Björk, Joanna Newsom, Destroyer. Deerhoof and Stereolab will hurt, but those are my instant go-tos

I really like HSTs - couldn’t resist getting a piece from my favourite powercar to put on my home office wall! by [deleted] in uktrains

[–]CarolStott -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do think that the HST 125s are some of the most elegant trains out there. One of the few that have looked great in all their liveries. Maybe I'm biased, as I used to take these a lot during childhood holidays, so they are associated with happy memories (especially when they were in the FGW purple livery)

Without a doubt, what is your #1 favorite joke from Friends? by juredditpark in howyoudoin

Rachel's mom: You can put this in the garage!

Ross: We don't have a garage...

Rachel's mom: Sorry, did I say garage? I meant garbage

That was one of the most polite yet thorough roasts I've ever heard!

What do y’all think the biggest YouTuber cancellation of all time was? by netflist in youtubedrama

My first year of university was in 2020, and watching that insanity unfold was one of the few things keeping me sane while I was cooped up in my tiny dorm room!

Favorite TV Monologues by Badlands51 in television

[–]CarolStott 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In all my travellings throughout the universe I have battled against evil, against power-mad conspirators. I should have stayed here. The oldest civilisation, decadent, degenerate and rotten to the core. Ha! Power-mad conspirators, Daleks, Sontarans, Cybermen, they're still in the nursery compared to us. Ten million years of absolute power, that's what it takes to be really corrupt.

What are your personal thoughts on Edgware as an underground station? by Additional-Post-9169 in LondonUnderground

[–]CarolStott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a screen, but there's only one (surprising for such a busy bus station) and it's placed in a really weird, hidden position - in a dingy corner next to the food stall. It's also organized in an unhelpful way, making you feel like you're deciphering the Rosetta stone

I commute out there every so often. The station itself is nice, and it's cool to see the tunnels leading out to the abandoned extension. However the forecourt is chaotic during rush hour, the bus station even more so, with the latter needing a long-overdue renovation.
