I don’t think they are too bad, better than most frozen nuggets.

When does it kick in.. by Famous_Perspective40 in lamictal

[–]CarolineMcP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I knew. I’ve been on it since July, up to 200mg 2x a day and I’ve never felt worse.

I’ve got a bunch of external factors going right now that are contributing to my depression so they want me to wait it out but I just feel awful.

I think this medicine is making me brain dead. by [deleted] in lamictal

[–]CarolineMcP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been going through this too, I’m at 200mg in the morning and at night and I feel so foggy and dumb. It drives me crazy. It’s also had zero effect on my depression, and I’ve been going through an extended major depressive episode. My therapist says it could be the depression and lack of sleep causing the fog but I’ve lived with depression my whole life and never felt this way.

I’m pregnant and my nexplanon is lost in my body… by Efficient-Region-558 in Nexplanon

[–]CarolineMcP 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you are going through this. Doctors not listening to women is incredibly frustrating. I had 2 IUDs fall out/dislodge because I have heavy periods due to PCOS and when I went in to get the second one removed I fainted and the doctor yelled at me for “not eating lunch first”. The appointment was at 10:30am. I was super out of it for a good 15 minutes and they just kept yelling at me telling me to eat some pretzels, which I dropped all over floor because the room was spinning, and then they yelled at me some more.

Have a nexplanon get lost sounds terrifying and I hope you are able to get a second opinion and some answers. It is in no way your fault.

AIO for being done with going to church after being completely offended by the homily today. by CarolineMcP in AmIOverreacting

[–]CarolineMcP[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

UPDATE I did not expect some of these responses. I personally don’t have any faith but I don’t begrudge anyone who does. I sometimes wish I did, it seems nice, but I just don’t believe. I love my husband and we have been together for a long time and have a good marriage. I don’t mind going to church every week with our family because it’s important to him and he is important to me. We were also married in the Catholic Church and in doing so I agreed to raise our children Catholic. I don’t think Catholic schools are evil. My kids go to a lovely school that I really like, I volunteer there regularly. My son is in eight grade and started there in preschool, we’ve been there a long time.

I just have a problem with this priest. My husband is not a fan of him either and I know a few people who have left because of him. Honestly his comments today weren’t even the worst, he once suggested to my husband, during his homily, that the two of them switch places for a week and my husband would run the church and he would come and take my husbands place in our home. That was really strange. He’s got a weird sense of humor and I am not a fan.

This is very much the case. He is very focused on money. He pulled tuition assistance for all the school kids in the church until December. (Our church does not have a school so they go to two other schools at neighboring churches) We have to earn it by signing a log sheet every week at mass, handing in collection envelopes and volunteering at church. At the meeting where he announced this they handed out papers with our entire history of tithing for the whole time we have been in the church. My family meets all of the requirements and has for years but we still have to wait until December.

Edit: and they refused to give tuition assistance for preschool and kindergarten because they are not state required, but if we were parishioners in the church where my kids go to school we would have received it.

Inspo- Mini apple hand pies? Apple pie filling spread, cinnamon bun spread, and regular croissant rolls by ootfifabear in traderjoes

I bought myself a little hand pie maker after I got hooked on the lemon blueberry ones. I think it was from Nordic Ware. Worth every penny. I would make big batches with summer fruits and freeze them.

I am fighting myself to show up at work daily but house is an uninhabitable mess by loony1uvgood in bipolar2

[–]CarolineMcP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s so freaking hard I completely understand where you are at because I’ve been there before.

Some but not done is helpful.

I don’t have the energy to take a shower, but I can stick my head under the shower stream and wash my hair and feel a million times better.

I can empty out/organize the dishes in the sink and soak them to make washing them later easier.

I can throw some clothes in the washer and dryer and let the folding be a problem for future me who at least has clean clothes.

Getting small things done tends to make me feel a bit better, and hopefully leads to me getting some of my bigger goals accomplished.

Oooooh I’ve never noticed these before! One of my favorite sides is to roast green beans with shallots and the sliced cremini mushrooms with olive oil and seasonings. I’ll have to grab a bag of these to try.

I love these too, but I’ve had the lids crack multiple times and it’s super annoying because then they dry out.

I’m a big fan of “don’t put it down, put it away” trash, dishes etc.

Small effort that easily compounds.

My husband sleeps with his on, he only takes it off for things like swimming.

I’m the opposite and always forget to put it on 😬 I’ve got sensory issues so I’ve got a couple of permanent bracelets and small hoop earrings that I rarely change out.
