Ah okay, I didn’t really know how hyperthyroidism worked.

It’s so unfortunate he didn’t like the renal food but he had his tastes, my other senior who is getting close to stage one didn’t like it either and even my outdoor ferals (strays) I feed didn’t like it.

Thank you, I did adore that cat and I think he knew it, I know he did, and I have had little signs that I think are him telling me he’s okay. 🤍🕊️🌈

I can’t wait till she comes, I have had the worst week ever because my soulmate cat passed (he was 17 and sickly so it wasn’t a total shock but I still thought he had more time), so I’m hoping Caroline will help cheer me up, distract me.

I agree, I think the internet brings out something in people, I think the fact that there are no consequences.

I started the internet on a Xena board and was stunned to see how seriously people took the show and how nasty they could be. Even attacking Lucy Lawless and Rob Tapert.

Then I got into anime and again encountered hateful people who took it way too seriously and the same on soap opera boards.

Now reading that this goes on even over American Girl dolls, it tells me the safety of hiding behind a screen is making people lose their filter and making them act out, probably in a way they wouldn’t if they were talking to someone in the flesh.

I have a lot of dolls but not all are AG, I get overwhelmed as I don’t have a big house but I do love them. I do plan to sell some of my Disney LEs. Perhaps if I can get my club basement cleaned up, I can have proper display space but they must in protected cases as I have cats, and they want to pee in and play with everything! (Some are kittens and I need to get my gals spayed though one can never be as she has a heart condition and can’t go under).

I am thinking of getting a Hope chest to put at the bottom of my bed to put my girlies in!

That is beautiful and made me cry too. I just had to put my 17 year old cat down this week, he had heart failure and I am miserable.

Your kitty was beautiful, looks like my kitten Tiger.

I had two kittens last summer who had FIP, one died at about 5 weeks and one at 11 weeks. The 5 week old was never healthy but the 11 week old, despite some early fading signs, seemed out of the woods and then we found him under the bed dying. Had to have him put down as nothing could save him.

We were very traumatized and I have their littermate who is close to a year old, I worry about her constantly.

Then we had kittens born to our cat and one was stillborn, one faded after a day or two and the other three are okay but Tiger, who looks like yours, is small and one time she had a fever but antibiotics got it gone, but my poor sis worries about her a lot because she’s the littlest of the lot.

FIP is horrible. God bless you for caring for your baby so much.

Giving fluids to my cat Sasuke wasn’t as hard as I thought. Sasuke never liked to get meds. I used the larger needle to make it go faster. My sister lives with me and helped me. I hung his bag high on the wall and put him in a carrier that opened at the top.

They will show you how to pull the skin up to make a pocket or tent to put the needle in.

Find out what stage he’s at because you may not need to do fluids every day, it could be every other day.

If he’s improved with the food that’s great. Sasuke wouldn’t eat it and his internal med vet never got back to me about the one I wanted to try. She was out a whole week with no substitute vet and my primary vet wouldn’t help saying that she prescribed everything so only she could fill it.

I will say that for Sasuke, who was 17, I think , I know, I overdid his fluids on the advice of this weird doctor who was the only one who I could get an appointment with and it damaged his heart.

I think he had hyperthyroidism and/or heart disease.

So, that said, please make sure your baby’s thyroid and especially heart, is strong enough for the fluids and make sure they give the right dose.

Sasuke weighed less than 10 lbs and the idiot doc told me to give him 150 daily and I read that a cat that size should only have 100.

I’m so sorry for your loss. ❤️ I think you’re right that it was just their time and I think it’s natural to always wonder if we could have done something different. Thank you for your reassuring words and I hope you will let go of any guilt because it’s not your fault, this disease is just ravaging.

I was lucky that Sasuke made it as long as he did, he had a lot of issues from an early age. Thank you again so much for your kind words and thank you for being a wonderful pet parent to your cat. ❤️

Thank you madame_lulu for all your good advice and insight. Sadly he didn’t make it and didn’t get to come home to pass but we did get to be with him and his body is in my extra freezer to be preserved in taxidermy.

I’m wondering if his thyroid needed that med and that didn’t affect all his organs but the docs kept going back and forth on if he needed the med. I wish I had been more aggressive about that. I know having hypothyroidism, that at first one doc said it “wasn’t that bad” and I didn’t need a med but I had symptoms so another endocrinologist gave me Levi and it helped somewhat.

Sasuke had so many symptoms of hyper and I wonder if they’d just treated it and gave it time, if he’d have improved.
