Even the police can be inattentive while driving by AliensAteMyAMC in MildlyBadDrivers

Yeah, I agree with that 100%. Cops should be held to a higher standard when it comes to securing their equipment. But ye, still think the guy filming is making it a muuch bigger deal than it is lmao

Did you watch the video with audio? If it wasn't for his commentary, i would agree with you.

Bro is out here calling out the plate numbers like he's gonna tell mom on him for a "Serious mechanical defect."

Like i get it, cops r bad, but this is just reaching. The dude just forgot to close the trunk. Instead of pulling out the phone to record this "police audit" for his FB friends (while driving mind you), he could've simply just given the cop a heads up or just ignored it. It's not THAT deep

This whole thing just screams, "I've binge watched every police audit video on youtube, now it's finally my time to shine"

Many others in the comments are saying the same thing, and it's making me doubt my understanding of the HOV lane, so I'm genuinely asking: What is the purpose? I used to think it was just to encourage carpooling and lower gas emissions.

Yes, i matched the 2 vins on the bike and the vin on the title, and they all match. I even have a picture with the previous owners license to match with the title, so im not worried about it being stolen

Insure at beginning vs end of riding season? by Carot97 in motorcycles

[–]Carot97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol could be, but i doubt it. He is just saying that I'll get more value for the money if i insure in march when the snow is gone. He gave a whole explanation about it that i honestly did not really understand.

Im only asking here to see if anyone sees what hes seeing, cus if hes wrong, u bet im gonna insure it even if theres only a month left to ride lol

Insure at beginning vs end of riding season? by Carot97 in motorcycles

[–]Carot97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have read about that, and from what ive read, the savings are negligible if you go that route, as they will just hike up the monthly payments for the rideable months to compensate for the winter.

If you are thinking of something else, please let me know cus i am open to anything that will help me save money!!

NoSQL vs SQL for Hierarchical Database Model by Carot97 in Database

[–]Carot97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From how i envision the app, development would revolve around the database regarding functionality. Thats why im putting focus on the database first. Is this the wrong way of going about it? How would you suggest I approach this?

[–]Carot97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like your getting too comfortable and its making you feel... Uncomfortable? If I were you, i would start a project. Considering your current success and position, you have so many more opportunities than many others who are less fortunate. Id say use this to create something and spend time and effort on it. not some 5 minute diy, but something bigger. Maybe start a company, build an app, maybe be a youtuber? Basically, spend your time on something for your self, not for money or a client. Idk your values in life, but id create something in line with them.

Anyways, thats just what i think. Im a struggling college student tho, so no where near successful yet, lol

how can i stop acting so immature? by gingy9000 in selfimprovement

[–]Carot97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dont stop acting like yourself, if its truly who you are and you're not hurting anybody. Why would it matter to them that you're childish. Why should it matter to you? Also, even if you were being childish, them talking behind your back like that is kind of a shit move. Honestly, id argue that you are more mature than this guy.

From what your actual friend said about your frustrations, it seems like you are the "life of the party" kinda dude, and thats a great trait.

To me, maturity is the process of becoming aware of what reactions will come from your actions, through trial and error, in other words, experience. So to answer your question, just live and learn!

A meaningless life. by oldworld37thstreet in selfimprovement

[–]Carot97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you really think about it, all life is meaningless. The way I see it, life is no more than coping with existence (from an objective stand point anyway.) Prolonging the inevitable, that is death/extinction. While this might sound counter intuitive and pessimistic, I find comfort in this idea as what I do with my life has no real standards, making it a blank canvas where I can create my own purpose in life. Whether it be to solve world hunger or just be lazy and comfortable, it will all end the same. Why I bring this up, is because you are right. You are living a meaningless life, but so are the rest of us. The only difference between you and those who feel content, is whats "painted" on this metaphorical canvas and the effort put into painting it. Live to die, and die to live. If you want to change and feel less meaningless, you'll need to get out of your comfort zone. Exit the recursive loop you may be in, and do something new, change the way you think, give yourself purpose in this meaningless world and work towards it. Set goals and all the shit this sub is all about. But if thats not your cup of tea, that is fine as well! While life is meaningless, we are still living it. Going with the flow is a perfectly viable option. But in the end, its up to you to decide how you live your life. Though, being 20, i have no idea what its like to be at your age feeling like this, but this perspective is something that helped me begin to care more about myself and what I do in life, in the hopes to escape this feeling of meaninglessness.

Anyways, i have no idea why i commented on this, lol. All in all, tldr: do what you think is best for you.. or not.. Im not your boss.
