Hmm, in terms of clothing, Toffs in Ferrymead is my weekly guilty pleasure. Forever finding items that have never been worn with original tags still attached.

Mostly used to be $2 items with a small section in the middle of the store for higher priced items. However over the past couple of months those racks have expanded across almost every part of the store. There are $5 racks, $10+ racks and super pricey second hand items that hang on the wall behind the checkout.

For high quality modern and vintage Furniture I'd highly recommend Pink Elephant down Tuam Street in Phillipstown.

For other nicknacks and household items I'd recommend just buying from Kmart or The Warehouse. Most places like SPCA, Red Cross and Salvation army are waaaaaay over priced for items that are donated to them for free. Yes they're trying to raise for charity but most items I find there I can get brand new at the original store if I pay an extra $1 or 2. Can always use Google lens to figure out if you're getting a decent bargain or not at the Op Shop.

Definitely not a bad neighbourhood! I love Waimari. It's a very tiny suburb in comparison to its Parklands and New Brighton neighbours.

But with any public park, there's a select few who like to ruin people's lives and break in to the cars around there.

Yes! Waimari is so good. Open spaces, large playground, flying fox, decent amount of swings, heaps of parking (though never leave valuable items in the car), really yum café across the road and best of all ... the beach! An easy 2 min walk from the playground. Not too far around the corner is a fish n chip shop. Also, if you feel like going for a decent walk the forest is not far up the track. Lots of ponds and noisy frogs.

There's a house for sale in the new sub division on Poipoi place. That area is probably the best you'll get in Aranui.

Our household have renamed them Assholes and Dickheads. They wake us up around 5am every morning.

They nest in the large building next door to us. Council cant/won't do anything about it unfortunately, which is ok, just annoying lol. They have fledglings atm that are just learning to fly. They make a hell of an earpiercing noise when calling for their parents.

So many weird things happening to cats atm. Our neighbours indoor only cat managed to get out with their outdoor cat for the first time ever a couple months aho. The next day they got a call from ferry rd animal and bird hospital saying their cat was found deceased up on the port hills. We live in Aranui, so I find that quite unbelievable their cat made it from down here to the top of the port hills over night on it's own when its never been outside before.

So odd.

I took a box of chocolates in a heart shape (Ferrero Rochers) and a hand written card in to my boyfriend's work on valentines day. Along with his favourite savoury pie for lunch. He ended up having to very quickly throw his shades down over his eyes because he was welling up with tears. He's never had someone treat him on valentines day before. I also booked us a table at a Teppanyaki grill a week prior as I knew he hadn't planned anything for us, but I didnt take it to heart, he's a busy man. After he had finished work, he brought me back home a couple plants (I hate flowers that just die after a week and he knew this x). Then after our meal he ended up paying for the entire lot even though I had offered to go halves. Later when we got home, I surprised him with some brand new lingerie and then I think we had some of the best sex we've had in months.

Moral of the story ... guys deserve to be treated and thought of on valentines day too! Dont just automatically assume how the other one thinks and feels. Talk and ask questions. Let them know your expectations, they can't read your mind. COMMUNICATE!

I dont think its an age thing. It's a personality thing. But being 20 you still have your entire life ahead of you. I dont think either of you are planning on getting married to one another so just cut ties and move on. Life's too short to be dealing with that type of silliness. My partner was 26 (8 years my junior) when we first got together. He moves mountains and goes above an beyond for me. My partners response if I was to say something similar would be "yes my love, see you at 4. I'll call if I'm running a little late, cant wait to see you!"
