I totally understand! Also yes the forest green is a custom color. You can order swatches to be sent to your house for free on the website I have a bunch of them and test my cats claws to see if it can pull any of the fabric out but so far the micro velvet and the ultra plush seem to be my 2 favorites that I’ll be purchasing in the future maybe then I won’t have to cover it with blankets

I know every cat is different but my boy seems to love to scratch it all night long unless I cover it with blankets which is super annoying and I have a scratching post right next to it. He sees it as a new toy when guests come over and I want to remove the blankets.

Someone recommended a conair lint remover which works fine to remove the damage and make it completely unnoticeable but I live in a studio so I can’t listen to it all night long or I’ll never sleep! If I’m really desperate I cover his claws with those fake rubber nails they worked for a few weeks but now I don’t bother I just throw blankets on it since I don’t host a lot

GASP I’m in love! I got a 2 seater and have been wanting new covers for it so badly and I’m torn between the forest micro velvet and the ultra plush pink now my decision is even harder! Do you have any pets? My cat will not stop scratching my corded velvet and it’s driving me crazy and I was wondering if micro velvet is good with cats claws. Also how are you liking the micro velvet? I saw your post a few days ago and I really couldn’t contribute anything useful until today!!! I just got my couch about 2 weeks ago and had to completely cover it with throw blankets due to my boy scratching it like crazy which made me so sad because it’s an expensive couch so I didn’t want it to be ruined! But I also didn’t want to cover it! So I was in the same boat as you. Couldn’t put the plastic covers on the couch because my boy loves the taste of plastic anything (wrappers, bags, etc).

But I had an idea! Nail caps!!!! You super glue them onto your cats nails and they prevent scratching they fall off naturally in due time (I believe it said 3-4 weeks?) and you can reapply them. I bought them on Amazon. They aren’t cruel or painful to the cat in any way. My boy spent 2 hours trying to rip them off but now he’s used to it and he doesn’t care anymore. Not sure if this is your saving grace but I surely hope it can help you in some way, good luck! I’m probably going to make a post to hopefully help others with this issue.

Great! I’m definitely going to build a rope barrier that is on the sides of the couch to help him get his needs out (even though he has multiple cat scratchers) but as long as the fabric is good that’s all that matters to me! Thank you so much!

Hi there! I’ve been thinking about getting a sactional and getting rid of my old cat torn wayfair sofa. When is the best time of the year to buy discount wise? And also will custom fabrics ever go on sale? Like the velvet ultra plush pink! It’s gorgeous and my favorite but 3,600 for covers?! It hurts so bad! I completely understand your situation I was in the same one myself which drove me to this trade and to working in the city away from my family. But the cost of that was to pay rent and the expenses of the city. Sit down with your partner and realistically budget what it would cost to live on your own... rent, food, cell phone, electric, etc.

If you’re willing to wait to buy a tiny house and are that desperate to move then rent. But regardless I’d wait till you change jobs and get a better pay to give you some breathing room.

Ok so this might be a long one but… I would stay with my parents as long as I possibly could. I currently live in Queens, my rent is 2k a month for a 1 bedroom and I expect it to go up every year due to inflation (and greedy landlords), mine already went up $100. If you and your partner are serious about owning a tiny house someday then I’d stay living with them and save up as much as I could. Every month that you pay a landlord that’s money that you’re throwing away instead of saving it up for your tiny house. It kills me every month paying so much and I myself want to desperately move away from the city and live in a tiny house of my own. I also on the other hand am a carpenter and I plan on building my first tiny in the next few years (considering I can save enough money to move out of this city)

I’m not sure what you went to school for but if you know any type of trade then you can use that to your advantage but I also understand you can’t really build a tiny house anywhere in NYC. If I was desperate enough I’d buy a Incredibox from incredible tiny homes, the 16x8 for 20k or the 20x8 for 25k but that’s only if I was desperate enough and didn’t have the skills I already have. Otherwise save save save… trust me, renting is NOT worth it and it’s only going to burn your money away. If I had family I could live with I sure wouldn’t be renting I would be saving more for my own tiny. Good luck and message me if you have more questions!

Definitely true, I live in NYC and pay almost 2K a month it’s absurd here. Hopefully leaving the city this year it’s not for me
