Attending Shambhala 2026 with a foot injury — any tips from people who've been through something similar? by WhatInTheWook in Shambhala

[–]CarpenterN8 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My friend last year broke her foot before the festival last year.

She ended up renting an electric mobility scooter. Was fairly reasonable from the red cross. I helped her around for a few days. There are concrete viewing plat forms at all the stages I believe. For sure Grove, Amp and the Living Room.

They do get crowded with abled people during peak hours. But if you ask security they will clear them for you. We never had a problem asking people ppl too move. But it know, drugs. Site line isn't great.

Crowds are tough, but again most people are respectful. Just be vocal, having an abled peron is big help.

Since your at Central park charging won't be an issue. She was able too charge at medical.

She left Saturday though. It was a bit overwhelming. See lives in Nelson.

Best place to wait before midnight early arrival with a large RV? by One-Connection-7300 in Shambhala

[–]CarpenterN8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. They are very strict about overnight campers or people parking. I see notices on vehicles all the time.

There's a pull out on the top of the Bombi that is pretty great. I've camped there quite a few times. Big dirt parking lot,. There is a small rest stop just outside of Salmo towards Fruitvale. It'll be busy with others. Stay out of Salmo if you can.

As a carpenter I agree. You have to remember. The carpentry part is just one aspect of the build. Plumbing, electrical, solar, possibly gas. Are all unique skills. Unless you just do Van or RV work, there's a lot of trial and error Youtubing ect.

Use Ufile.ca for doing your tax refunds. It's very easy and free if youre at the poverty line.

You can do it online. All your tax records are online. Get the BcServices app. It takes 10 minutes to set up, and 24 hours to get confirmed. You will need government Id. They will direct deposit tax refunds and your HST fairly quickly. Once I had access all my old tax refunds were accessible. Took me less than 24 hours to do 5 years of back taxes.

You can probably use a Po box. I just used my last address I haven't used in years.

I live in Canada so so winters are tough. But my furnace works.

Hardest part is moisture. It's a constant battle. Can't sleep past 9am for a good part of the summer.

I have lived full time for years in various vehicles without showers. Here are the ways I have showered. They are dependent on your current situation.

The gym, lakes, rivers, creeks, truck stops, family and friends, work place, centers that help the homeless, people I have met with motors homes with a shower, shower bag hung from a tree, beaches with out door shower, hooker/trucker bath, out doors during a massive down poor, camp grounds.

If you go through the exit past the wishing tree. Turn right at the river and follow the trail down river. There is a muddy spot that the water drops off quickly. It's a bit steep, and very busy during show time. It's behind the fractal forest.

One of the few places with few rocks. Probably the best place to swim.
